...since Celtic last won a league game at ER.

I hope we can keep that going a bit longer.

I know, I know, we were in the Championship for three of those years, but I'm gonna milk this for all it's worth. 😏

It’s still an impressive record regardless of those years out the league.

It doesn’t count for much in terms of what to expect on Wednesday I wouldn’t say but hopefully we can extend the run.

Hmmmm..

Was remembering the toothless gutless spineless Scottish Cup performance at ER in one of Hecky’s early games in charge where we surrendered possession and large parts of our half of the pitch to Celtic

A repeat performance will not go down well

It is important that we take the game to Celtic get in their faces from the off and do not give them time to settle and build up any sort of rhythm

They have a crap record in Edinburgh generally in recent years.

I remember that game well for all the wrong reasons. Didn't lay a glove on them and we looked terrified of attacking them.

We need to be attack minded from the off tomorrow as Celtic's weakness is their defence. If we try to contain them we'll lose.

Remember that game well

Was an awful performance against a poorer Celtic team that should have been given a tougher game

I hope Ross doesn’t sit in

I’m at the point I’m just wanting to see an attacking performance and if we get beat 3-0 fine just don’t sit in and do nothing at all

I think Ross' go to tactic is to hit teams on the break. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I remember we were going through a really bad spell under Lennon but managed to beat Celtc 2-0 at ER in the middle of it.

L - D - L - L -D - L - D - W (Hamilton) - W (Celtc) - D - D - D - L - L ....Mutual Consented.

Sure that was one of the two or three games we we won in about sixteen during that run. Mental.

Yep, we'd actually had a fairly decent start to the league season (W-5, D-2, L-1), then it all fell apart.

I was amazed we beat Celtc that day.

The football was brilliant though so nobody complained at the time. :greengrin

Horrific run but there weren’t loud calls for Lennon’s head or boos ringing round ER at any time.

Everyone was shocked the day we all heard he’d left, no one saw it coming.

That’s certainly not how I recall it.

Remember all the talk about how Lennon is the best manager we’ll ever get etc? That was off the back of people wanting him gone as far as I can remember.

Yeah it was that win and nicking 2 draws in a week against Rangers that kept him on. In reality he should have been sacked in early December. If he’d not had his training ground meltdown we could’ve ended up in a bad way that season

Yup. Not one Lennon out thread on here.

Yeah, Hecky’s little ‘bits and pieces’ weren’t much good to our players then.

It’s almost as if he didn’t know better after all.

I agree, and fear that we will set up likewise.

I want Hibs to try and rattle them from the start by going at them, hopefully with an early goal.

Big test for Jack Ross tonight, first time with fans back in what is regarded as a big game at Easter Road.
