Just randomly stumbled across this article of the Top 50 greatest footballers of the 1990’s and was a little surprised to see our very own Mixu Paatelainen right up there ahead of the likes of van Nistelrooy, Deschamps, Roy Keane, Koeman and Effenberg. Shocked he wasn’t higher to be honest - the fact the Maradona, Ronaldo and Zidane are ahead of him is a gross injustice IMO.

Personally think its wrong, thierry henry for example, yip he was a decent player in the mid 90s but wasnt until he went to arsenal that he pushed on to the next level and Maradona hardly kicked a ball in the 90s

Some great players but the order is way off, and some only there on achievements outside the 90s. Henry isn't even close to the top 10 players of the 90s.

IIRC Russell Latapy was 33rd on the FIFA list late 90’s early naughties

One of the judges Charlie Cook had him third best behind Figo and Rivaldo
