View Full Version : This time next week

Say we lose against Celtic on Wednesday, which is very likely given the last couple of performances then lose against Ross County, the worst team in the league next Saturday, by this time next week it really will be a crisis situation.
Will then be interesting what Gordon does. It has been a revolving door of senior staff at the club in the last few months. Ross would be the ultimate sacking/moving people on that Gordon has overseen.
My feeling all along is that Gordon has wanted his 'own' appointments/people at senior roles in the club. If he punts Ross then he will have his wish.
I'm a big supporter of Hibs and hate to see this decline happening in front of my eyes. The aggression and drive of a lot of our performances in recent years have become more rare and recently has completely disappeared.
It's starting to really annoy me when Ross says at post-match interviews 'our recent record is good' or 'these players have been good for me'. For our manager to continually reflect on the past and bring this up continually is shocking.
Ross needs 4 points from the next 2 games. If not, we will have probably fallen into the bottom half of the table.

If it's zero points from Wednesday and Saturday. I'd be disappointed if JR was still in charge.

What if we beat Celtc (which history at Easter Road looks not bad for us) then pump Ross County? Will people then look forward without getting ahead of themselves to sack a manager it will be difficult to replace.

But we won’t beat Celtic and more than likely Ross county as well. We are on a slippy slope and it’s not looking good for mr Ross.

I'm expecting to lose on Wednesday but we absolutely must beat Ross County next weekend.
They're the whipping boys of the league so far and losing to them next week would be hugely damaging.

We will get beat 2-0 by Celtic and draw 1-1 at Ross county. Going 1-0 up, sitting back and conceding late on , With the usual posters on here saying Dingwall has always been a tough place to go and a draw is acceptable.

I expect 3 points as a minimum. We should beat Ross County.
However, if Ross County are in need of points then we are the best team for them to play. No getting away from that until we change that trend. Aberdeen needed a win and we gave them it. This has been a common theme since the beginning of time.

Doidge and Magennis were huge reasons why we pumped Ross County that day.
The team we take at the weekend will be a shadow of the one who doled out the pumping.

We're getting ahead of ourselves. I'm much happier taking one game at a time. There is no point criticising Jack Ross and the team for games not yet played!

So were Boyle, Doidge, Murphy, newall etc. Its not a shadow. We can win.

We can.
But Doidge and Magennis were superb that day. That was my "Jack Ross is winning me over" moment and those 2 players were integral to us finally doing justice to that formation. Doidge got injured a couple of days later and we've been various shades of pish ever since then.
So whilst I accept that we "can" win, this one being away instead of home and us having lost 2 of the best players and almost all of our confidence since then, I'm expecting a lot less than I should be against a team with County's record this season.

100% [emoji23][emoji23] all goals conceded uncontested crosses into the box. Hope not but I fear Celtic’s 2 up front could get a couple goals each on Wednesday if we’re not at it. Porto coming back in is massive, laddie should be handed the captaincy try and pull this team together.

I love how the only responses to this aren’t anything to do with people changing their minds on Jack Ross but are all to say “no chance”. 😂
We need a performance on Wednesday and to follow that up with a win against county. Anything else is not going to reflect well on the manager, but for me it’s time the players took some responsibility as well.

Celtic are still very hit and miss so we have a chance on Wednesday. If they’re on it though then I’d suspect we’re going to struggle. Hopefully they have an off day.
We simply must beat Ross County. They’re absolutely garbage.

The amount of self loathing on this site is remarkable. How many threads do we need to say the same thing?

Doesn't that tell a story then as an indicator of the general opinion of the fans.

Unfortunately going by our last 2 performances I don't hold out much hope of even getting a point in the next 2 games.
The Aberdeen game for me was the real disappointment with absolutely no reaction at all from the insipid performance against Dundee Utd. No fight, no heart and no desire whatsoever. Serious questions need to be asked starting from the top.

No.
Jack Ross will still be our manager at the end of the season unless we go into a Butcheresque downward spiral.
I think his position will be reviewed in the summer, I expect like many jobs a performance review is fairly standard and we may make a decison then based on a number of factors that haven't yet come to pass.
I think there will come a point were Ross will fancy a new challenge, despite what he has said publicly before, and I think as a club we may see ourselves going in a different direction in the medium term. The shelf life of a manager is pretty short in Scottish football.

I don’t think there’s any real chance of that happening. If we did though then I’d fully expect he’d be sacked.
We’ll not get beat in all those games though.

Bums should have been kicked after that embarrassing cup final performance. To many players know they start every week due to the lack of quality in the squad.

Jack Ross certainly doesn't have much to threaten their starting positions with if he feels they're not responding. He's not getting sacked any time soon regardless of results but if he wants to avoid ugly scenes from the Hibs support in the short term he needs to produce a fighting performance in the Celtc game and then a win at Ross County. That would buy some time.
