Can we be clear that this was an accident with a prop gun that misfired blanks

Tragic. Poor guy must be feeling awful.

Reminds me of when Bruce Lee's son died accidentally on the set of filming The Crow in the 1990s.

Hopefully some charges brought to the staff who were not adhering to relevant health & safety protocols?

Unbelievably the plot of the film centres around a accidental death.

Lots of stories going round that it was a live round in the gun. If so, somebody will b going to jail.

Sounds like an episode of Columbo.

Sounds like an episode of Columbo.

It really does.

Why was there a live bullet in a prop gun.

What does David Icke think happened? I'm going to ask him.

Why is there any need for live ammunition to be on a film set?

I read reports that the person in charge of firearms was 22 years old and doing this for the first time. And also, to add to the columbo line, reports that crew members walked off set hours before due to complaints over working conditions.

Yip, and why was it the lady photographer and male director that were shot, it’s a strange one, I would have thought he would be firing it at another actor.

I was thinking that too but he may have fired at the camera and they were behind looking at the shot?

I gather that it was a close up when the accident happened, obviously lots of speculation just now, the first reports were a misfiring and the projectile came from the side of the weapon, but until the investigation is complete everyone is guessing.

I also heard that but would that not mean injury to one or both hands of Baldwin, it’s a mystery.

A guess, but it might depend on the weapon, some suggestions that it was a shotgun or rifle, but again just part of the speculation.

With all the Technology available right now and also all the Health and Safety concerns, it's kind of strange that there isn't a prop gun that makes the right noise and flashes and smokes without needing to fire any sort of projectile.

Speaking of technology, surely to god CGI could produce authentic looking muzzle flash etc without the need for actual ballistics on the set.

New reports say crew walked off set earlier after 3 previous firearms misfirings.

I read somewhere that they’re also not supposed to point guns at each other even when they’re loaded with blanks. They use camera trickery etc to make it look like they are which just makes it all even more strange.

A lot of the blame is landing on the assistant director David halls. He is apparently meant to check the gun but said loudly "cold gun" unloaded, when handing it to Baldwin.

Report here said crew played about with the gun offset with live ammo, so could be behind mix up. Americans and guns, why shoot deadly weapons for fun
