Hi guys

I'm heading down to Blackpool this weekend with the kids and a mate. We are trying to get tickets to the Blackpool Preston derby, and although it is a sell out, they have a ticket exchange and we've been able to secure 2 of the 4 that we need. I have a client reference number for Blackpool, but I'm limited to buying two tickets only for the game.

Have any other Hibees been to Bloomfield Road before and have a client reference number that I could use to buy the two extra tickets that we need?

Thanks in advance!

I will PM you .. I have one I think

PM sent .. on searching it was showing no tickets. Even singles. I may not meet criteria as only bought once before...

Resale tickets are popping up on the website from time to time, so I'll keep an eye on it.

Off topic but my 1 and only visit to Bloomfield Road was 1974/75 and someone was stabbed and killed. If I remember right it was the first murder in a football ground. Terrible atmosphere that day yet we were able to walk out the ground without giving details ect. Don't think anyone was ever convicted either

Have a great time at the game. Some comeback last night!

Hope to get down to BR sometime this season. Get the flag back out that I got made for the playoff final in 2010.

Yes that was a match against Bolton Wanderers and you are correct nobody was convicted. Still a lot of bad feeling towards Bolton by Blackpool fans, particularly of a certain age.

It was a great comeback, I was at Reading last night to witness it😁

I notice there has been an ‘Edinburgh Seasiders’ saltire flag proudly displayed at matches at Bloomfield Road this season. Been wondering if this is the work of another Hibee?

Found that myself on a good few occasions. Always tend to be on our guard when having a beer before games at Bloomfield. Been called a murderer there in the past despite not being born for another decade afterwards.

He's a Blackpool lad living in Edinburgh, his Edinburgh leaning is Hibs though.

There's also a lad from Edinburgh (now living in Bpool) whose persuasion is the dark side and he on occasion has a Tangerine and turd coloured Saltire on display. I did greet him in a friendly manor one day but he didnt want to know.

As Lancs Hibs said the Blackpool Bolton thing is quite deep because of the tragic incident in 1974 with certain Blackpool fans of a certain age. Blackpool's natural derby though is Preston and saturday will be a great occasion, their first league meeting for a few years.

Good work mate:thumbsup: not the one I was referring to though. The one I mean is always in the west stand next an Irish flag and doesn’t have any tangerine on it.

We've managed to secure the four tickets we need, so we are off to the game tomorrow. First derby between the two teams in 11 years, so should be a great atmosphere.

Special thanks to IWASTHERE2016. I appreciate your help with this!

That’s great, enjoy the game. Are you all split up around the ground?<

I never realised Blackpool v Preston was each other’s big game
Always thought Blackpool was Fleetwood or Morcambe and Preston was Wigan
Suppose the Blackpool fans on here who follow Hibs as their Scottish team will correct me
Not many Preston / Hibs fans on here

My God.

Fleetwood, Morecambe ect have been non league until recently, whereas Blackpool and Preston have traditionally been nearer the top end of the pyramid system.
Plus they are similar sized towns only 20miles apart.
Go back 60 or 70 years and Blackpool v Preston would be top billings in the land.

Fair bit of bother before, during and after Saturday's game. Much pavement dancing though.

Yeah saw the one you're talking about on AVFTT recently, it's a nice flag and probably cost a bit more to produce than mine, looks good quality.

What a result on Saturday!

Fleetwood fans have tried to create a rivalry in recent years, especially with some 'Oyston In' patter. They have been and always will be an inconsequential little club.
