Three people have been rushed to hospital following an explosion at a house in Ayr which caused severe damage, with the blast being heard for miles around.
Residents have been evacuated from part of the Kincaidston area following the incident at about 7pm Monday.
Pictures shared on social media showed at least one house was destroyed, with debris strewn across the street.
Social media users said they heard the explosion from miles away.

Its awful, my wife's family are from Ayr. Thankfully not affected but she's not heard from her pal who works in the area. Hopefully she's fine. 2 casualties we've heard.

The reports on the news this afternoon were referring to a gas explosion.

i'm glad the MP that i read giving condolences to those that lost loved ones was obviously premature, i was baffled then pleased hearing news earlier with reports of no deaths though sadly all are serious in hospital.

Just caught up on this story. The level of destruction is unbelievable, even more amazing that no one was killed.

Maybe it was gas (probably was) but are still investigating the cause of the gas explosion. Was it deliberate? Was it a leak?
