Paddy Moloney, founder of the Chieftains, died this morning aged 83.

Regardless of whether your into folk/diddly music, there's no doubting how much he did to bring Irish (and thus other traditional) music to the masses.

RIP Paddy.

RIP, the great Paddy Malone
Despite all of his talent what drew me to him when I was in my late teens was that every time I saw him on TV he exuded such happiness. It shone out of the guy.
Once I matured I realised that his talent was as great as his smile.
A life well lived.
