Presume they have excluded sectarianism 'cos the system would overload and crash before KO at any Stickies match.

Still nothing to stop anyone using the service to report sectarianism and religious bigotry. It might make them sit up and take more notice.

Anddd that'll be it getting flooded every time Rangers, and to a lesser extent Celtic, turn up at ER.

And every other ground in Scotland.
I’m already anticipating the system being abused though as fans of rivals clubs do their best to give their opponents a bad name

I might be wrong but I think this will be designed to be a service for reporting someone who is sitting in close proximity to you and reporting them directly to a steward or police officer would be too awkward.

I doubt if it's designed to be a way of reporting an entire support as I'd imagine you would need to include details of the person's seat number and row etc. The system would probably crash if you tried to enter "entire south stand" as the answer to the question of where the culprit was sitting.

It all sounds a bit half arsed or the guy running it is not communicating it very well to the reporter.
Strangely I can see it being more useful at the games of smaller clubs.
I can't remember when I last heard any fan near me at Easter Road make racist comment.
Certainly nothing in the last decade.
Obnoxious behaviour at times but nothing racist.

I've already sent a message with the dates of when the bigot twins visit ER and given the seat numbers as the whole South Stand!! 😀

A lot of young 'uns don't even know what text messaging is.

This needs social media - however it would only make public the amount of complaints there would be, especially if people use it for sectarianism. With text messages the SFA can hide the level of complaints.

So you have to know said person section and seat, well that helps cause none of the arse cheeks will be reporting each other and we can’t exactly report “Ibrox” or “Parkhead” !

Can't find anything about this story on the SFA website but just heard a Radio Scotland item in which the reporter introduced it as a service to report racism, sectarianism or other discriminatory behaviour. She then interviewed someone from the SFA (Discrimination Officer?) but they made hee-haw reference thereafter to reporting sectarianism, and focused solely on racism. Ostriches.

It is better to try and do something about it than nothing at all.

This, if the authorities were serious about stopping sectarianism and bigotry they'd have set this up already. :agree:
