Windows 11

Anyone installed it yet? I'd normally wait until the early teething problems are out the way before switching something like this, but I have an old but still very decent laptop that I no longer use that I'm going to update to see what it's like.

The windows update site's very slow just now - it's obviously taking a hammering from muppets like me.

From what I can see they're leaning even more heavily toward linking all your devices - pc, phone, laptop, etc. as well as connecting easily with other people (I'm guessing it's because there's more video conferencing & remote working than ever before).

One major change that I can see is that you'll be able to install android apps on your pc.

I didn't manage to install it on my old laptop last night as the processor isn't compatible (yet - apparently) and they reckon that for the majority of people it'll be next year before update messages start appearing automatically on our PCs. Those who are desparate can go and download it now, though I'll wait a bit before putting it on any computer that I need/use frequently.

I'd say for most people currently using Windows 10 there's probably no pressing need to upgrade (and Windows 10 will be supported until 2025), so normal wisdom of waiting a bit while they iron out initial problems applies.
