It is 10 episodes into the 2nd series is it not. I really like the programme but it is moving a little away from football with the last two episodes I have watched not even having a game. Hope it runs for a few more series.

It’s definitely having at least 3 seasons. I’ve not started the 2nd season yet because I hate waiting a week for new ones. I’ll binge it when it finishes. The first season is one of my favourite shows ever. I loved it. I recommend it to everyone, and it really annoys me that they never watch it. :greengrin

Ted lasso is brilliant.

S1 was ace

Only 4 episodes in to season two, but led tasso and the Christmas episode cracked me up.

Excellent programme - I’m only 5 or 6 eps into season 2 so not seen the “weird” one yet.

I wouldn't call it weird... certainly a break from the normal but does bring a side but important character into it a bit more.

Now today's episode... holy ****

There's a free trial with Apple TV. You'll be able to watch all the episodes in the trial period.

Possibly the best tv series since auf wiedersehen pet. Well written and brilliantly acted.

Just a heads up that if you are planning to use the free trial for this program specifically, you’d be best waiting a few more weeks as the second season hasn’t finished airing yet. It’s a weekly show. I’ve not watched any of season 2 yet because I hate waiting a week between episodes so I’m going to binge it when it’s finished.

I read somewhere that the Christmas and Beard episodes were written after the rest of the series because Apple originally wanted 10 episodes but then changed it to 12.

Makes sense as to why these two episodes didn’t really add anything to the storylines.

I thought the xmas episode was the best of the lot. :greengrin It was very good and more a standalone. The beard one looked like it was written by someone who had already been paid for work expected and then asked to do a little more for free. Can't wait till the next series as it has been a great addition to my viewing and I hope there is more football orientated storylines

I watched the full second season at the weekend. It really is one of my favourite programs ever. Even the two alternative episodes were fine. No one else has mentioned the sound track, I’ve been singing along to every episode.

Oh and if just like to add, “Shut up Thierry Henri” :greengrin

Just finished S2. Really enjoyed it, but a couple of criticisms. There was too much American terminology and I didn't track the personality clash that has set up S3. Was I just not paying enough attention?

That clash was rushed into the last 2 episodes.
I was enjoying it at first and will watch the 3rd season but thought it was all a bit crap really 😀
The wife enjoyed it so that dictates that we will be wtching S3.

He gradually got annoyed after filling in for him after the panic attack - he started craving attention and adulation. Did seem to blow up really quickly though.

Ah, okay. Thanks. I didn't pick that up at all! I also didn't mind the torn trousers episode, so maybe it's just down to me being a bit stupid!

I thought the panic attack being newsworthy in a potentially negative way was well off. Obviously the response to it in the story was as it should be in real life, but it wouldn't be a story in real life.

I think if you were wanting reality, you were looking in the wrong place. It was a comedy, at times almost a farce.

From the outset, a football club wouldn't hire an American football coach in real life even though it feels like we've hired loads of managers who you'd think knew nothing about football either! :greengrin

Oh, I agree! I just found that particular development jarring, both in that it is thankfully not how the world works anymore and was at odds with the sensible treatment of mental health elsewhere in the storyline.

Anyway I'll definitely look out the third series when it arrives.

Yep the level of bitterness progressed quite quickly obviously to build in season 3 feud.

Onceinawhile

It wasn't just about the bitterness though, it was about him learning to take control and go after what he wants.

Hence getting the window table at the restaurant and putting the moves on keeley.

That combined with the lack of credit and probably a lack of self-esteem because of his original position all fed into it.

You only need to look at how he began treating his replacement to see it was all coming to the ending.

Seemed like he was treating his replacement badly all the way through the young guy should have pulled him up about it.
