I don’t think it has to be. We pushed for it against Celtic a few years ago, got it, and failed to sell about 10k.

The problem we have with selling 15,000 is they may give Rangers some of the better seats we’d get with a 50/50 split. It’s not guaranteed to get a 50/50 split, as below
League Cup Rules and regular
10.7 For each Match in the Semi Final Round of the Competition:
10.7.1 the ticket pricing and number of tickets to be allocated to each participating
Club/club shall be determined by the Board;
10.7.2 15% (or such lesser percentage as the Company may be able to agree) of the gross admission receipts after deduction of the applicable VAT shall be paid to the neutral venue owner and operator as payment for the hire of the stadium and associated services;
10.7.3 following the payment specified at Regulation 10.7.2, the Match expenses and costs incurred by the Company or for which the Company is liable shall then be deducted from the remaining balance and applied in the discharge and/or reimbursement of such expenses and costs;
10.7.4 the Company shall retain 5% of the remaining balance following the payments specified at Regulations 10.7.2 and 10.7.3; and
10.7.5 following all payments specified in this Regulation 10.7 the remaining net admission receipts after all such deductions, payments etc. shall have been made and/or allowed for shall be divided equally amongst the four competing Clubs or clubs which participated in the Semi Final Round of the Competition.

With no trains it could be a good earner for Lothian Buses. They put on loads of buses for the Hibs v Dunfermline final. Was sitting in a pub in Rutherglen before the final and Double and Single decker buses passed. The bar person commented it was like being in Princes Street due to the numbers of buses that passed.

One an hour from Waverley to Helensburgh via Glasgow Queen Street low level (and everywhere else in central Scotland, including Bathgate) from 8.36am until 6.40pm.
Last one back to Edinburgh (on the same line) is probably around 7.30-8pm-ish.

Happy with that kick off time.
I think our form between now and tickets going on sale will determine how many we sell. If we take something from Ibrox at the weekend and continue our good form then I think 15/16K is realistic. A couple of bad results and around the 10K mark will cover it.
Not really bothered anyway. I'll be there and one of the best nights I have ever had at Hampden was when we were outnumbered about 4 to 1 by huns and we done them on penalties.

Oh and we'll get the Celtic end of Hampden, the only completely neutral national stadium I'm aware of where two teams have their own end.

Doesn’t bother me that in the slightest.
Rangers pubs are at that end and the Celtic pubs are at the other I think aren’t they? I know strictly speaking you shouldn’t allocate sides based on that but in terms of the logistics and security element it makes complete sense to have them approaching from that end and not passing each other to get in.
Also think it gives them no advantage so i personally don’t see the issue.

15k will be an acceptable allocation and one that could sell out if we are in good form. Suppose the segregation will be factor in how many we receive as it’s not quite as simple as just throwing figures into the air as to what we think we can sell.

They can do whatever they like whenever they play each other at Hampden but surely when Hibs play Celtic for example and we inevitably get assigned the Rangers end i.e. the west side of the stadium, our fans who are predominantly coming from the east need to get through the Celtic fans in order to get to the other side of the stadium so I don't really get the security argument from that perspective.
Whenever one of them plays any other team in Scotland there should be a coin toss to decide which end of the stadium each team gets.

You'd have to check with HC to be sure but I think there's one an hour via Bathgate, plus a couple of Cross Country trains.
The problem is that the trains via Bathgate are already totally mobbed, even without football fans. Trust me, that's the one I went on to the game on Sunday and it was standing room only by the time we went past Coatbridge.

Trains via the A-B line on a Sunday are mobbed, and very slow as they stop at every lamppost. There is massive potential for trouble on those trains as well given the areas they travel through from which Rangers fans will be joining the trains as well. The line may also be closed for engineering works, thats the message coming up on the app, check back at a later date.

Have some sympathy with this
We live in a country where the national stadium is under 120mins away (some teams have "local derbies" that take longer to travel to)
There are busses, trains, cars, supporters busses that folk can access
The kickoff is not late or night or early in the morning
And most of all, our Hibs team this season is well worth backing
As the great Sicilian author Sciascia said "a ciascuno il suo (to each his own)" but for me, I cannot wait for this game & I will be there

Not a conductor in sight on the Sunday slow coach to Helensburgh. Must be drivers willing to work...
The service is utterly mobbed and someone had the bright idea of bolting all the windows shut just to ramp up the covid roulette.
Around 90% of trains in Scotland are not running on Sundays and it's been that way since April.
It's about conductors being paid less than drivers when called in on a scheduled day off. No idea how often that happens but there's obviously not much going on to address the situation, which is a scandal.

They are driver only operation services (DOO), something thats been campaigned against since the 80's, theres supposed to be a 2nd person on board for safety reasons but its not beyond the realms of possibility that the train ran with just a driver breaching the agreement.

They could get a sponsor for the buses which covers cost and charge fans 5 quid head with free scarf.

Prices and allocations confirmed. Rangers half the south, whole of the west and whole of the north. Hibs half the south and half the east, presumably the other half of the east will be given to Rangers if we don’t sell it. Would far rather have half the north than half the south. Piss poor seating.
Prices £25-£35 for adults.

No complaints about that will be enough tickets, with opportunity of more, but I doubt they'll be needed.

Full or part subsidy of supporters buses would make a huge difference to the attendance.
Would certainly be a welcome gesture. The kind of thing Hibs should be doing every now and then as a thank you for our support IMO. Especially if there’s innovative ways like sponsoring the buses etc so Hibs aren’t making a loss, but breaking even or making a profit shouldn’t be the driver behind a potential gesture like this.

**** them should be half and half for a semi or the North should at least be split half and half.

Don’t mind the South - better facilities inside than North and plenty good seats, albeit a bit further from pitch than North.
Just need to try and keep further back from front to ensure a decent view!

Notice on the spfl statement it says the availability may change subject to the ticket demand. I.e if we don’t take the other half of the east then they will basically. Hopefully we make a big effort to sell out our allocation and not have them on every side of the ground!

We aren't, South Stand is the most modern & has the best seats, albeit some of the front ones are probably inferior to equivalent in North. Splitting us between North & South isn't an option, so this is as good as its going to get
when we are only taking a relatively small support, and is certainly better than having no tickets for the South (main) stand which would be consequence of having North instead. Seats with crap views is just another of the excuses folk are getting in early.

I didn’t realise that was the case.
I’ve been to Hampden twice with the wee man and both times it was ruined for him by steaming idiots and folk who won’t sit down in front of him. Don’t get me wrong, I was one of those idiots for a good chunk of my Hibs supporting life so I don’t want to be too harsh on them. After the last time I promised him the next time we go we’d sit in the posh seats with the old boring farts like I am now.
Don’t think I can justify paying adult prices for an 8 year old though so suspect we’ll be back in with the riff raff again and hopefully we get lucky with our seats.

I don’t think we can complain about it being unfair to be honest. We probably won’t even sell all the tickets we can potentially get.
East holds 12,800 plus so, along with the tickets in the south would imagine we can get up to about 17-18k which will be plenty.

We were given an equal number of tickets in recent years and didn't come close to selling our allocation so can't really complain sadly.

Sounds fair enough, given the numbers we usually take to semi finals.
I think there's about 14,000 seats in the East Stand, so when you add the seats in the South, that's more than enough.

Yeah it is a bit naughty.
You can take kids to the game but if you want to sit next to them you have to sit in the seats in outer mongolia.
Similarly over 65's with poorer sight will naturally be situated ..................... miles from the action.
Ron would call it creative pricing.

There won’t be, we’ll sell the initial allocation even if sales are a bit slow. I’d imagine we’d need to sell most of what we’ve been given very quickly to get any more which won’t happen.
