Assuming three games in a week after illness for JdH is too much which is fair enough. Probably the strongest team we could have played. Cadden is a bit of a square peg in a round hole as a forward winger but with Scott not setting the heather alight so far it’s probably a necessity if we want to stick with the current formation.

Only debate for me might have been straight swap Gogic for JdH but we’re at home so i’m glad we’ve went with an attacking line up.

At the St Mirren game I wondered why we didn't do that first half - same personnel but tweaked a bit.

If it's our usual formation but with Boyle or Cadden on the left then it might be a bit of a struggle.

I like Boyle as a striker, I know many don't. With Allan in there to provide some ammo we'd have a cracking threat in behind them, as well as a partner for Nisbet.

Strange half.

Started well and knocked it about quite nicely then it all just went to hell for about 20 minutes. We were wasteful, panicking and scrappy. We seemed to just about sort it out for the last few minutes of the half.

They are a nightmare to play against. Yes they are niggly, industrial and spoil the game but they are also a very well organised unit who know what they are set up to do. It's pretty ugly but effective, particularly against us.

Big 45 minutes ahead. First goal wins it.

Nisbet's played well.

He's done some decent work, but we have looked short of bodies in the middle when he has gone gallivanting.

There was one time when he took what looked to be a smart quick throw to set Doig free down the left but when Doig got himself into a decent position there was nobody for him to get the ball in to.

I'm not sure if Nisbet just needs to play a role where he doesn't "wander further than the width of the posts" and wait for the other players to create.

People seem surprised at the way the game has gone but its bog standard for when we play StJ. They set up to stifle, not concede and play on the break or rely on a set piece. I thinkcwe have played decent but it was never going to be an open flowing game.

He's a guy I've had an irrational hatred for since he chose to knee slide and was giving it a GIRUY to the FF family section after they scored a late goal against us a few season back.
