View Full Version : Stadium volunteering opportunity

A number of supporters have asked if they can help the club around the stadium. It’s a great idea and much appreciated.
There is a potential opportunity to help volunteer at Easter Road most of this Wednesday coming, 22nd September. If you are available drop me PM here or to
[email protected] and I’ll keep you in the loop.
I’m working on a plan to find a weekend date in the immediate future, drawing up a plan with the club operations and maintenance team on a list of things that would be great to get done - really important there is a structured plan so any supporter time being generously offered is valued and utilised.

Unfortunately can’t do Wednesday KP, but keep me in mind for the weekend work, if it fits in with my commitments
Me and 2 lads put the stickers on the seats in East and West just after LD joined

Just a quick note to confirm the volunteering around the stadium is going ahead on Wednesday this week, 22nd. I’ll be at the stadium from 9am - supporters can come and go whenever with whatever they can commit throughout the day if they’re keen. Just drop me a message or email for more details ✅

Absolutely will do Billy. I know midweek isn’t ideal, this is more seizing an opportunity to do something before the St.Johnstone game.
I’ll still plan to create a weekend opportunity when there is no Hibs fixture.

Is there a list of jobs needing done or is it just turn up if you have help to give in a specialist area like painting ? Thanks

Good question. No specific skillset required for this session - club maintenance team have a list of things to be done on the day that most can do and will have equipment lined up. 🧤 Gloves might be wise.

What time does it end Kieran. Can't do the morning but could possibly do a few hours in the afternoon. Well done for organising though. Lots of supporters would love to put something into the club and this is a great initiative.

Excellent stuff.
Great to see the club engaging with the fans via the fans reps in such a productive way. That’s what it should all be about.
Also positive to see a bit of imagination going in to spruce up the stadium. Again many fans have been asking for this sort of thing for a very long time and It’s great to see our new owner and CEO looking to get things finally moving on this front.
Well done [emoji106]

we’re clearly in the minority so it makes no difference but I’ve always thought initials and names spelt out in the seats looks a bit tacky. The sort of thing every other club did and mine proudly didn’t.

Good question - old gear works best here. You’re on the ground most of the time. Not as casual as shorts and t-shirt like myself. Not as full on as railway boiler suit like one individual.

This is flexible to come and go as you please between 9-5 each day (I’ve got a couple of school work visits planned myself in between). Stadium access is confirmed for Wed-Fri and we’ll only use Saturday if required.

It looks brilliant. It's good to see the stadium get a much needed freshen up. Hopefully the previously discussed green ribbon will be next. That along with the big screens will make midweek games feel extra special (and I already love any game under the lights).

The top horizontal line needs to be slightly longer. As a result, it doesn’t look centred in that section of seats.

I thought about alternatives but there are 7 blocks so you need an odd number of characters to make it work, unfortunately that probably ruled Hibs or Hibees out but I suppose a dash could work, not seen us referred to as Hi-bees though. I would have spaced the letters differently, excuse the shoddy photoshop job. It is a big improvement and well done to all that put the time in. I really wanted to help but life got in the way.

That was why I did a mock up. For all it looks much better, cramped was the first word I thought too. Maybe there are plans for the sides that will explain the placement. I don't really want to be critical as the work done and the idea to brush up and Hibsify the stadium are excellent

That was why I did a mock up. For all it looks much better, cramped was the first word I thought too. Maybe there are plans for the sides that will explain the placement. I don't really want to be critical as the work done and the idea to brush up and Hibsify the stadium are excellent
Think the way they’ve done it looks better to be fair.

The pitch is absolute carpet. Hopefully they can keep it in that good nick during the winter months.
And someone mentioned a few months back that investment in the pitch was being cut to the bone. Give me that budget treatment to the grass in my garden anytime.
Don't see the point. Cant see the lettering when the seats are populated.
Think it looks good and I’m guessing it hasn’t cost the earth espeically given it’s mostly been done by volunteers. Great example of using volunteers and fans to get stuff done
Also guessing the old green seats will just be used to replace those in the south after our friends over the city and in Glasgow have visited so likely we will recoup some of the cash

I really hate being negative, but I don’t like it. I loved the all green seats, it was like a strip without a sponsor. At the end of the day it’s not that important as i won’t see it at the games as people will be sitting in the seats. Well done to everyone who volunteered for this.
