All out injured, 3 of them are starting today.
We had to withstand about 15 minutes of heavy pressure but done so really well. The last 10-15 minutes we were the better team and I thought we were going to win.
Unbelievable save from Macey for the GMS chance.
Gordon saved them a couple of times too.
Nisbet and Boyle too quiet for a game like today.

If that's the best they can do with a fully fit squad and the momentum of promotion against us with our injuries, players travelling from all over then there is little to be bothered about. They'll hit a slump by the middle of next month. Our team looks nice and solid we just need to get healthy.
fair point, we're a side littered with internationals :)

What a absolutely rubbish game of football.
Best two players are the keepers. We had chances but I still felt we were poor. That said we've played much better at tynecastle and lost. I'll take point and move on.
Still unbeaten.

The fact that both keepers were needed a lot today showed it was an open attacking game, 1st half very even, just that 30 mins in the 2nd when they took control of the game and we didn't hold on to the ball enough, last 15 mins we did very well, I had a 1-1 draw in the prediction league so game ended as I expected, Hearts a decent side this season.

I noticed a couple times they made 3/4 quick passes but when he got ball it slowed down.
Hearts best players were keeper and that Woodburn who went off.
Usual derby where we allowed them far too much time and space on the ball. Our hesitance led to a number of uncontested crosses into our box. We need to be tighter and more physical off the ball and less wasteful and more clinical in the final 3rd.
Not the worst 0-0 we'll ever see and a point each is about fair but I don't think it's a game that will last long in the memory.

We might as well have sent both keepers out to decide who gets the points by playing a game of long bangers.
Tbf both teams looked half decent with hearts having a bit more cohesion than us. Hearts having most of the pressure with us having the clearer cut chances. Draw was a fair result.

The game was even from start to finish.Maybe but how many were genuine chances? Low percentage shots from outside the area. Magennis chance was a proper chance and Nisbet in first half. Nisbet had a couple. Boyles chances were long range efforts.
I don't feel we ever really looked like scoring. We were poor with the ball second half and they had most of the ball.
As I said, we've played much better and lost there so I'm not disappointed with a point. I'd take a draw there every time. I just feel we are better footballing side than them but I wish we'd show it more against them.
Others are right, we were under strength whilst they had a full team out so maybe I'm being harsh.

It was a well earned point, and either team could have won or lost without complaint.

Nah. It wasn't great!
A draw was the right result. They had the earliest chances and it could have been a different game had they taken one of them. In the end though, we had 6 on target to their 4 and hit the bar (even if it was a cross). They had the greater amount of possession but no way can they claim they deserved the win, they were lucky we didn't nick it at the end.
Thought Boyce was meant to be a decent player, he's sh*te. Didn't do much today. Any match I've seen him in, all he's done is win free kicks and score penalties but little else.

Bar a 20 min period in first half we fought hard and a draw probably fair. Either side could've nicked it.

It wasn't a classic in terms of silky football, although there were more than a few spells of decent play.
It was entertaining though. A lot of action in and around the box, a few strong tackles and half a dozen really good saves shared between both keepers.
Yes it was frantic at times and a bit of composure would have went a long way but that was a decent game.

Our defence was awful apart from Macey. It's a problem.
i don’t agree. I thought the problems were further forward. There were periods of the game where our inability to win second balls meant we were under constant pressure against a front 3 playing very narrow and looking to play their way through us. I can understand why Gogic came on to try to protect the back 3.
Overall I think we defended pretty well and battled hard in a game we might have lost.

Think Ross has to take a bit of the blame for Scott’s performance for me. He didn’t know how to play the position he was in, we were a man short in the middle of the park in the first half.

A good point that between ultimately two good teams I think. Hearts will be thereabouts this season.
I do think on our day we are the better team (they do not have a player better than Boyle or Nisbet) plus having JDH, Murphy and Doidge back will make a difference for us in addition to Mueller on his way. Once they are all back (and Mackay for that matter) we will have a lot more depth again and will be able to change it up more. Our bench was really thin today.
Did people not bother with their correct seats today or did we have more fans in that should have been?

Must have been at a different game to many on here reading this after the game. Thought we played well in patches, as did Hearts. Both keepers very good and we had the best of the chances. Our defence held up well after looking shaky for a while in the first half with corners. Some good performances for the men in white(why not green) with Newell the pick for me then Macey and Cadden. Nisbet quiet but was quite isolated and the only real failure on the day was Scott. Cadden's energy was amazing and Gogic did very well when he came on.
I'm critical of the young team particularly at Tiny but the atmosphere was very good without the poison of the last few games. Just the smoke bomb in the concourse that really let them down and the Mercer song. generally though they sang and drummed and even outside the ground it was a nice atmosphere. The Hibs crown were very supportive today and even the much maligned Drey Wright got a good round of applause when he came on.
For a derby it might be the best nil nil I have seen. Both teams went at it and when the opportunity was there played some good football. The hoof shout count was the lowest in years from Hibs supporters. A decent day and hopefully we will get full points from the two ER fixtures

Indeed, I've seen a few over the years and I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I thought both teams went for it and played some great football at times. Both keepers were outstanding.

Agree with this. Think the game was on a knife edge that could have gone either way on a few occasions so to get a draw isn't the worst outcome. Both teams had good chance and both keepers made good stops.

I agree with many of the latter comments, in the first half for example we settled very well and quickly controlling the first 15, then a switch was flicked and they controlled the next 20, then it was back to us.
It could have gone either way, a decent 0-0, the referee was decent and only our offsides were annoying me.

The offsides were infuriating. Happened too often and just halted momentum of being in attacking areas, especially at set pieces. Cummings used to get caught offside frequently which was very frustrating too.

Aye your summaries pretty spot on to what I thought of the game.
I wasn’t too convinced newell had a good game but after seeing so many posters single him out for praise today it’s maybe a case of having to watch it back, sometimes you miss these things when your pitch level.
I was the same with Newell…thought he struggled second half in particular.
But I’ve seen others say he was up there for their mom so just goes to show how different people see games and players.
I think I find him rather frustrating. He’s clearly capable and always does some quality stuff, but other times seems to dawdle and play too slowly or plays some really poor passes.
But maybe he just tired after being out and coming back into a hectic game.
But regardless the team as a whole did their bit and battled throughout so every one of them deserves credit for a competitive performance where we may well have sneaked a win on another day.
