Is it just me but watching him play for Scotland v Austria and again tonight for Villa v Chelsea, he seems to have added quite a bit of extra pace. The accuracy of his corners has improved.

Since the departure of Grealish, he is easily Villa’s MVP.

Commentators are saying tonight that he's a lot fitter and has acknowledged that fact, came back to quickly from his last injury, he's played well tonight and unlucky for Villa as they've put a lot into this game.

He was frustrated, fouled a few mins earlier and the Chelsea boy should’ve been booked but wasn’t. Then he’s booked when it was ever even a foul.

not the first time he has got booked needlessly could cost villa as the season goes on. im a big fan of john but with his experience he should be more careful

Thought he played very well tonight. Villa's best player today for me.

Being a Hibby and Villan I have tons of love for John, so I was specifically disappointed last season in him. This season however, he seems to have added a little more to his game and refined some of his rough edges. Something Smith spoke about doing during pre-season, think it's done him wonders. Looks like the old Mcginn, with a rocket up his backside, which I didn't think was possible 😂

McGinn is a talented player who has improved with every move so I could see him at a level above Villa.

I think there's a good chance they'll be able to identify the guy. CCTV, or even TV cameras point towards SJM from the other side, and maybe other fans sitting near that corner could probably identify him. Can't hear anyone else shouting so should be easy to pick him out.
