I've no idea where they get their figures and it's probably pretty immature but GIRFY!

Hearts
Total squad value: £10.58 million, MVP: Beni Baningime, Average age: 26.1, Foreign players: 11

Aberdeen
Total squad value: £16.56 million, MVP: Lewis Ferguson, Average age: 26.6, Foreign players: 15

Hibs
Total squad value: £17.78 million, MVP: Josh Doig, Average age: 26.1, Foreign players: 10

:singing: big team, wee value, wee team big value ....

These articles are always a bit of banter & talking point

Regardless of overall value, it's what the team as a unit can do that counts.

I would agree that Aberdeen's squad on paper looks more valuable than Hearts does, but I would have expected Hearts to beat Raith in the cup (had they played them) but I wasn't too surprised to see Aberdeen lose. I'm not convinced the Dons' jigsaw will fall into place, with the players they signed and the type of football Glass wants to play.

As for ourselves, it has been good business (potentially great business) holding onto Doig, Boyle, Nisbet & Porteous - all high value players, getting better all the time.

We have a good starting XI, but arguably maybe a weaker bench to turn to than the other pair

Whatever the values are, all I know is a win on Sunday would be a huge springboard for the season #GGTTH

Who in the Hearts squad, other than maybe John Souttar, could be expected to command a decent sell-on fee? Anything in excess of £1m say. Whether now, or in 2-3 seasons if they progressed as they are expected to.

For us it would be Nisbet, Porteous, Doig and Boyle now. And strong possibilities down the line could be McKay, Magennis, Jake Doyle Hayes, Dylan Tate and Chris Mueller.

I don't think the Hearts squad has been built with that long-term thinking in mind.

I notice none of the usual Jambos at the EEN have put their name to the article. Funny that.

Not that I pay too much attention but I don't remember hearing of any Hearts players being linked with a big money move during the summer? Who was the last player they sold for a decent fee?

Interesting that the article has the Celtic squad valued at 59m and The Rangers at 93m, that's some difference.

I'd guess that with the Celtic squad featuring quite a few new faces they're hedging their bets on values.

Probably basing their worth on what was paid for them.

Was it not the young lad, Aaron somebody? Cannae remember his name. That must've been a couple of seasons ago though.

They knocked back an English Championship club a couple of times re Souttar. Don't think the team in question was mentioned or an amount quoted.

What a terrible website the EEN is, won't even load the article, just the photaes
I was looking on Transfermrkt the other day and had a quick peep at the squad values, they're being kind to hearts for a few of their players and they include the value of loan players in the calculation too. Not much sense to any of it but we all know Hibs have the more valuable players :greengrin

They could gave avoided all this humiliation and general smallness by just having Lily Savage say they paid £7.21m for Barry McKay.

It is very poor now - the free article limit is now pretty pointless too. On my browser anyway you now get a message that you still have 2 free articles but unless you then continue to sign up it doesn't clear the message and let you read anything.

I just browse the main page normally and if I want to read anything I open it in incognito mode (or whatever it's called).

The fact that most of us think that this is puerile nonsense, which we disdain, while if the findings were reversed, they would be salivating over it without any sense of irony, tells us everything about the real gulf.

That one of class and intellect between the respective supports.

Isn't 12.15 just the time Hearts have to get off the shared facilities they hire to let the netball team on for their booking?

I know that the website uses it as a rough guide and it is probably a case of "certain stats in = transfer value out" when calculating the values of players for the website, but the amount of people that take it as gospel in this era is astounding. Some places would have you think that it's the actual transfer list.
