Let's pray he is fit for Sunday!

To me this means no chance Boyle is risked on Sunday. Will be out for a couple of games as a precaution probably.
Him and Murphy out is a big blow, not sure we can play 4-3-3 without them. Probably a formation change on the cards now, maybe Scott and Nisbet up top with 3 at the back?...

Does anyone know when he's due back.

You’d have thought today. An overnight flight to Europe and into Edinburgh this morning
Thing is the Jambos will know his exact injury situation. A brother of a Hearts player in the Aussie team, an an ex Hearts player in their squad too!

Jack Ross on SSN now saying Boyle in contention for Sunday and he missed Australia last night purely as a precaution.

:aok:
Boyle hasnt often performed to expectations at Tynie and I dont think the narrow pitch size allows us to play to his strengths. Granted Lennon used to switch him to a more central role and so he didnt get a proper chance.
That said I would prefer him to paly, preferably out wide, if fit

Yeah, thats why I said often rather than ever.:flag:
Maybe it was a Lennon thing and the way he set up at Tynie and Ross will be different.

On the flip side, though we'll be giving him every chance and all that, I don't imagine we'll be publicising how unlikely he might be to play.
Edgy 11am team news coming up.

I think JR is playing mind games. We've already had a full medical report of Boyle's injury earlier in the thread.

Exactly. Why would we give Hearts advance notice of the line up?

No such thing as a 50/50 hamstring injury.
A tight hamstring to me is a warning to back off from full extention for 2 weeks.
Simply can't risk it going boooooiiiiiiiinnnng.
Would have preferred if he had come home for treatment.
Interesting that you point out that you have a limited knowledge on hamstring injuries then in your next post say with certainty that a 50/50 injury doesn’t exist… just saying.
My 2c is that having suffered an ACL injury in the past Martin will get more injuries to his hamstring in the long run as a direct result.
You can feel a tweak while playing and if you come off and give the muscle enough time to settle and relax and treat it properly then it can be fine after a week as long as you give it the appropriate R&R.
You are correct in saying that it would t be worth losing him for a prolonged period with a proper injury like a pull or worse a tear, but I do think everyone at Hibs and in the Aussie camps will not do anything to risk that.

Nice picture of him on his Instagram walking in shorts with his daughter to her nursery. No strapping or support. Looks OK.

The smallest pitch in Scottish football ain’t good for wide men. The game just gets clogged up in the middle.

Boyle usually plays very well at Tynecastle. Hearts will be petrified of him.

Only if you make it a battle in the middle of the pitch. Late 00’s early 10’s hearts had no issue ripping us to bits with wingers who beat our men and put balls in the box. It is possible to play football there regardless of the size of pitch.

It becomes noticeable how condensed the game becomes naturally on that tight pitch as literally every player occuppies the same area for goal kicks. It is very noticeable from our end. If we can play smartly with a bit of width and keep it we could really go at them but the game there will just become a battle on Sunday.

I always remember getting ripped apart by Neil McCann and a tight pitch is the reason Neilson keeps brining in oodles of cheap wingers into the club. Their latest is Mackay-Stevens, Ginelly and Woodburn. Thankfully, they have poor defenders who will be turned inside out.
