Can anyone confirm? Saw a few things on Facebook today regarding folk seeing work going on/ scaffolding getting set up in the corner of the FF and East.

Personally very excited about this project!

Looking forward to seeing it when it's done, might enclose the stadium a little more too which would be cool

I think hearts have the patent on chips. Wouldn't sit right with me if they were to make money from us due to selling chips

I was in the stadium yesterday, no screens.

The adverts at each end of the East were coming down earlier but the green frames remained in place.

No sign of the screens themselves yet, though assume they'll follow shortly.

I was at the shop this afternoon and there was a lorry dropping off steel girders in the area between the East and FF stands.

Surely the big screens will be above the signs? Will look daft otherwise, they’re usually higher up in stands

That’s a shame, they’d have looked smart above the boards to really enclose those corners

why are they not putting them higher, are they going to have a couple of hinges so they swivel to allow the practise goalposts in

we'll be in the east when back so won't even see them anyway :)

Going where the ad boards are makes sense. That’s about the same sort of place as the ones at Ibrox which imo are better than something miles up. You’d imagine they’ll be easier to install there too

Definitely! Surprised that's not where they're going. Probably practical reasons that I will never get.

Could put the advertising boards above the TVs once they're installed. Seems sensible to have the lighter item above the heavier one and would help enclose the corners.

Are people not getting a bit mixed up between the big tellys and the digital advertising ribbons? They’re two separate things and both were mentioned by RG at the pre-pandemic AGM.

The ones at Ibrox are a lot higher, must be about 30 rows up

Well I’m just not going back then. The correct placement of the big screens, a few inches higher and slightly offset to the current advertising boards, was my sole motivation for buying my ST this year. If it’s not corrected I demand a refund. PETRIE !!!!!!!🤨

Folk have formed their opinion based on nothing so far. They’ve not even started putting them up and folk are having a moan that they should be higher

I’m sure when the advertising first went up in the corners, there was a reason given why they couldn’t go right up to the top of the stand. Something to do with the wind possibly?

The Ibrox screens are in line with the upper tier of the stands next to them - the top of the screens are pretty much in line with the roof of the stands. I would have thought having our ones above the existing advertising boards would have been the best way to do it - even just in terms of making them as visible as possible from the other side of the ground. We'll see the end product soon enough anyway.

I agree with all that. If they don't put it higher there will be a valid reason. And as you say its all speculation. But its the passive aggressive bairns stuff, people are allowed an opinion

Ones at Ibrox are far higher than that. They have 1000 seats below them then a gap and then the big screen.

Wouldn't see any issue in having both, it's all creating income for the club in the end.

But having the existing boards with the screens above would give a nice finished feel to the stadium. Obviously there are legacy reasons in terms of the width of the pitch as to why those two corners are more open than the other two, but it has presented an opportunity to close them off up to a good height while generating income at the same time, so it will be a pity if that isn't what happens.

I would imagine that advertising boards close to the big screen ha to become prime advertising space since supporters attention will be drawn to that area. Even tv viewers can be pulled towards glimpses of the on screen tv screens. I certainly hope the club is able to maximise every bit of advertising space.

It’ll be for weight reasons why they are going in place of the current boards rather than on top

The wind is probably more difficult to deal with than the weight. The existing boards (maybe each about 120-150m² ?) plus scoreboards above would create pretty substantial sails that have to be supported somehow.

I also think that because they are to be positioned close to the pitch then for sight line reasons they couldn't be too high. This is nothing like the set up at Ibrox where the hight of their screens is roughly the same height as the back/top rows of the East/FF stands but they are set back that far as well so it all works out just fine.
If you cant place your screens at the back of a stand, which we cant, then they have to be pitchside and if they are to be pitchside then they cant be too high. Think West Hams old ground as a good example of what we will end up with.

They'll build whatever it takes to have the screens sitting at a decent height.

I'd bet all the tea in China that they won't be at ground level like the advertising boards. It would look crap.

I'm expecting the entire corners to filled in with something above and below the screens.

The stands don't get blown over in the wind so neither will these. A little bit of steel construction and we're sorted.

If they’re building higher than the current advertising boards would they not need to have planning permission?

Would be available on the planning portals though and as nobody has found it I’m guessing there’s not been an application meaning it must be the same size as the previous advertising structure?

There was no planning or building warrant application made for the existing corner advertising hoardings.

I don’t remember them being on the original east stand applications either
