With Hibs top of the league in August and let's hope things continue in September, does anyone know how long we have been top of the league in recent times ? Thinking it has only been for odd weeks here and there eg. Under Fenlon...are we on a record run as top of the pops....

I hate to say this but Hibs were top of the table until late September under Jim Duffy in 1997-98.

And we all know how that worked out!

And we all know how that worked out!Yes. But we did beat Celtic at home on the opening day. Let's hope that tradition keeps up.

I asked a similar question on Saturday.

Lennon had us top after a 6-1 win over Hamilton while IIRC we went top under Fenlon after beating Celtic. McLeish had us very much in contention for top spot for a long spell at the start of season 2000/1. As someone else has said Duffy had us riding high until we lost a 3-1 lead over Rangers and went on an unstoppable relegation spiral.

There are two traditions there to be maintained.

The first is us beating Celtc.

The second is the Edinburgh team that gets an unlikely 2-1 home win over Celtc on opening day is subsequently relegated.
