Thought it deserves a thread of its own. What a difference having the singing section back in the East, the atmosphere was fantastic. Thanks guys, keep up the good work. 👍 🇳🇬🇳🇬 GGTTH

I was in the original ( unofficial ) singing section years back and it was great, everyone standing and a great atmosphere, it was a big loss to the stand when they moved. It'll improve the atmosphere at the ground in general big time.

I’m on the halfway line in the East so not sure exactly but they were further along towards the South and mid to back stand as far as I could tell. Very noisy and loads joining in. 👍

Atmosphere was awful! Never known so much of the East to be sitting down on their hands. Out sung by Livingston🤣

Think they’re calling it quits and going to the back of 43. Don’t blame them either. Apparently FF acoustics were the problem and East regulars were calling for the switch - made no difference yesterday.

I reckon the atmosphere was better where they were in FF going by yesterday! Where’s the next set of 18-25 year olds ready to start something fresh?

Section 45, tucked in another corner. The Club are very happy keeping them out the road

I wasn't at the game but could hear them singing loud regularly on tv and not a peep from Livi fans

I thought they did a great job yesterday.
A big plus is i didn't hear any negative songs or chants.
Well done guys.

However, the big test will come in the games against Rangers, Hearts and to a lesser extent Aberdeen and Celtic.
Will they get hijacked by nasty morons for those games such as we heard at Dundee?

I agree a lot of the East were sitting on their hands yesterday but generally I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent? A lot more of the songs caught on and went around the stadium compared to when they were in the FF Upper. It would be better if you had more folk standing from the halfway line onwards though, but hopefully that will be the case for bigger games

Thought it was much better than I remember it being in terms of the singing section being heard. While the atmosphere overall wasn't overly outstanding I think yesterday had a bit of a day out vibe for a lot of people (myself included) and it might take a few games before folk get settled back into things before joining in with songs and getting all excited.

Think the fact it was a game against Livi might be a factor.

The atmosphere at ER (and most stadiums I'd imagine) for a game against lower opposition is usually poor. Can't fault the singing section for trying to get things going though.

Thought the singing section made a great effort, well done guys. Let’s be honest there wasn’t much for the crowd to get excited about in the first half.

Most folk who sit in sections 40-42 in the East, including me, are more interested in watching the game than singing but most clap and probably half sing.
I'm sure everyone must have enjoyed the singing section input yesterday.

Of course it was way better…not sure how anyone could remotely suggest otherwise.

Outstanding it was not but then again neither was the game nor the opposition!

Definitely made a big difference though and was decent enough. I’m looking forward to it cranking up a level or two when it matters.

I just do not understand why we don't have a singing section behind the goals. What's the point in tucking them into a corner somewhere?

That's a bit harsh in all honesty, at the start of the game and for periods in the 2nd half the crowd actually engaged with the singing section and the songs were picked up by the east and elsewhere in the ground two or three times ... IMO it was better than it had been when they were in the FF upper, especially for games like that one.

None of that changes my opinion on the 'safe standing to be allowed in English grounds' thread .... the FF lower is and always will be where they should be.

You're quite simply wrong. Never heard the Livingston all day. Where do you actually sit because where I was they were loud and clear.

They were in the famous five upper before, not 43.

Why did they move away from the back of 43?

Because generally a loud set of fans behind the goals looks better and creates a better atmosphere. But only when they are directly behind the goals rather than up in the corner

Wish they’d put the singing section in the top bit of the south stand, over the away fans

Imagine the scenes for derbies, Old Firm games

You’re pretty much the only one with that viewpoint. I thought the atmosphere was great, livvy had about two attempts at singing which came to nothing, the fact that you say that we were out sung is mind boggling. You’re either deliberately trolling or weren’t at the game. There was times when all 3 stands were singing the allez oh song.

That is by far the biggest load of nonsense I've read on here in a long time.

The atmosphere at yesterdays' game was fantastic, especially considering we were only playing Livi, not one of our large rivals.

Because unless you go back multiple decades the singing at ER has came from the East stand.

So despite the obvious success of the move back to the East yesterday against Livi do we really have to have this ‘lower FF’ debate again, mainly it seems because other teams having that tradition?

I mean it’s pretty damn clear why they are in the East and why that is the best place for them…wishing we had our tradition of a curva sud or even the potential of creating one is just ignoring the bleedin’ obvious!

Were you at the game because there was no danger we were outsung by the small group of livi supporters

I think that's most people's thoughts on the subject.

The guys in the back of the East were really good yesterday and deserve the praise. It was fantastic to hear three sides of the stadium joining in on occasion as well.
