Every time he gets the ball he always puts it backwards, thought he was quite good last year but this year he's been pish

Looking forward to Cadden coming back. Mcginn was good last year but he's not started well this season

Cadden won’t come straight in for McGinn, Ross named him vice captain so will stick with him for a while yet I think. McGinn needs dropped tho.

Yeah he's been poor in almost every game this season baffling we have nobody to replace him

We are short at the back and it's quite evidently something that is hugely frustrating Ross.

Hopefully McGinn can recapture a bit of form because he showed last year he can be solid if unspectacular. The longer it goes the more problematic it becomes though.

thats what I love about this forum :) Is it cos we can’t vent at the ground? A thread singling out a player and the games not yet finished - what’s wrong with the game thread?

It's not really that unreasonable tho mate tbh he's been a weak link all season so far most goals against are coming from his side

Sure I’ve told him to **** off at least half a dozen times durn that 1st half. Chronic footballer. So uncomfortable in possession, lack of any technique. Usually solid defensively but having another mare today. We need better.

Great assist against County though

Going thro a rough patch but he's no where near as bad as is being made out here

Christ giving facts away in Hibs net won't do you any favours 😂

Like you say he was ill we have no way of knowing how that affected his first 45 mins.

He was sick on the pitch according to JR. His performances so far this season have been poor compared to last season though.

He's a solid 7 every week.

Or a 6 actually. Naw maybe 5.

Explains today, admittedly I’ve been harsh on him today not knowing he was unwell. He hasn’t started the season well though - looks to be lacking confidence for some reason.

I wouldn’t expect it but I wonder if his role in losing the final is playing on his mind.

He must be a magician because it’s some feat of science to cross the ball backwards, even though the ball goes forwards, as the OP suggests.

Pathetic, toys out the pram threads singling out players for abuse is poor.

I think we need a RB in. We can’t keep waiting for mcginn to find last seasons form.

Been miles off it this season. Give him the benefit of the doubt today l, he was sick. I do want better though.

How long until Cadden is fit?

can’t see him being dropped or replaced when he’s been made vice captain

Not really into digging into our players but for me he and Gogic are simply not good enough for where we want to be. He just doesnt seem able to stop crosses coming in from his side and is a bit light weight for me.

He was good enough for us last year when we finished 3rd, very steady and gives us the ability to change shape without making substitutions. Has had a dip in form right at the start of this season but just needs to get his focus back and hopefully quickly as we are really out of options.Obviously being ill would have affected him today.

Apparently McGinn and Doig were both sick at the start of the match. The defence certainly needs reinforcements though. Whether Cadden could play right back remains to be seen. Hibs always seem to be unfortunate with injuries.

This not good enough nonsense is ridiculous.

He’s been superb for us since we signed him and played so well last season that he got a Scotland call up.

He’s not had a great start to the season but write him off after couple of poor games this season is ridiculous. Particularly today when he wasn’t well. Apparently he was sick at ht and was subbed because he was sick on the pitch.

Was Nisbet confirmed as having Covid? I'd read he was ill but it didn't say what it was so I wonder if the squad's been hit by a bug.

Hotel stay?

Surely we don’t stay in a hotel before playing Dundee?

It’s little over an hour up the road.

Didn’t Lennon have the squad stay at a hotel before every game, home or away?

Don't think it's as bad as months. Cup final he wasn't great. But Celtic, Aberdeen, Dundee United etc at the end of last season he was good.

Clearly in a bad patch of form and needs help. If I'm Ross and I see a player struggling and I need to play him, I definitely tell my right sided midfielders to help him more..

Did anyone expect him to be as good as he was last season? IIRC most were underwhelmed by his signing and I think he very pleasingly exceeded all expectations, playing well above the "journeyman" label he seemed to have. But has certainly dropped this season to that level or below, even yesyerday's sickness aside. If Cadden is purely RWB and isn't a direct competitor for RB, then to me that is the No.1 priority position for a new signing.

McGinn was a decent stop gap signing, and a very good one, but he was ne Ed the long term solution to the RB slot. Like Hanlon Louis and Daz he now needs replaced.

Certainly not right now, and his absence is proving just how valuable he really is.

Sadly though, his time will come at some point over the next few years and it would be naive not to be at least thinking about what happens when that time comes.

It can be true that Paul McGinn has been a good signing for us and also that he should now be replaced.
He has been awful this season.
