Saddened to hear the news about my great football hero, Denis Law and his dementia diagnosis. Those are courageous words from Denis. I am sure he will face dementia with the courage, fortitude and dignity he has shown throughout his life. A good family man and a supremely talented footballer with the heart and bravery of a lion.

God bless you, Lawman.

Could not have put it any better myself Stu, he was my all time greatest Scotland player, that arm raised after another goal great memories, very sad to hear.

Way before my time but clearly an unbelievable player. He was the Ballon d'Or winner in 1964, what an achievement that is for a Scottish player. I doubt we'll ever see another Scottish player voted the best player in the world.

Mine as well mate, well said.

Found this superb video of Denis and Joe Baker playing for Torino against Hibs at Easter Road in 1961. A packed crowd and before my time, I think it was arranged as part of the deal that took Joe to Torino.

I watched the Sky Documentary about him two or three months ago and suspected then that there were signs he may have dementia. One of my all time heroes back in the sixties when I watched him regularly at Old Trafford. I remember a goal he scored right in front of the Stretford End, an overhead kick when he was several feet of the ground An all time great for sure.

Thanks for posting that, hadn't seen before. Not sure whether the mentioned 'kerfuffle' in the goalmouth would be more or less messy than a stramash!
