Good episode this lads, some differences of opinion there but all put forward their case fairly.

Listened this morning - totally agree on the season ticket chat: we’ve rested on our laurels and close to 2500 haven’t renewed.
Loyalty points too - got to get these back and done properly. I think the HSL thing was a bit misleading (at the time, not you) but it can’t be difficult to get a system up and running.

Glad you enjoyed it Leither!

Yeah it’s disappointing to see a drop off but ultimately people have their reasons and that should be respected. Think the club can do more to entice and rewards however!
Haven't listened to the podcast yet but I think if the club had offered something back to the fans who'd renewed last season, even just something like a £50 voucher to use in the club shop, it would have made a big difference.

Another season like last one and then see what season tickets are like next year (assuming the pandemic is a thing of the past). If we finish third and are challenging for cups (ideally winning at least one) and there's still a drop then we need to see what is differing about our offer/club compared to clubs with higher uptake.
I wouldn't panic over numbers this season, given everything that's happened we've done pretty well sales wise.

I think in the grand scheme of things sales are good as well, however compared to our city rivals they are not. The main thing we discussed on the pod was actually rewarding existing ST holders promises were made at point of sale and promo that haven’t been met

The problem with that is the 10,500 who have renewed would have had the £50 discount/voucher so that's potentially £525,000 worth of revenue lost. Even if that had encouraged the missing 2,500 to renew you're only putting at best around £250,000 back in to the club (back of a napkin maths I'll admit).
I fully commend those who not only bought season tickets last year but also renewed this year but we are having these discussions about reducing Cup tickets and cost of season tickets or additional discounts at the same time as we're debating whether we should be spending more to get players in now, increasing Boyle's contract and refusing to sell Doig on the cheap.
Unfortunately at some point something has to give. The club has chosen to try retain the pricing as is to retain the quality on the park. Only individuals will be able to decide if it's something they can afford but a successful team is the best way to bring fans into the stadium. Hopefully that in turn means long term we can work so fans pay less but the costs in the game continue to increase so I wouldn't count on that part.

Am I right in thinking the club haven't given any kicks for kids St's out this season?

I agree with the idea of what you’re saying and the club did make some offers/promises as you can see on this link.

However ST went on sale May time if I’m right so a quarter has already passed with no ST event taken place, I’ve been to every home game and haven’t paid a discounted rate for food be that via the online voucher or in person at the stall on Sunday. There hasn’t been a sniff about open training sessions - I understand might not be fully possible right now but some reference to it / plans would be nice to also allow fans to plan for time off if they wish to attend. I can’t say I’ve noticed that I’ve been entered into any competitions as mentioned either. The only thing they’ve done is the free Hibs TV which you don’t really get anything that isn’t on YouTube or Twitter channels throughout the week anyway

I get what you're saying and there is a element of it being a gamble as it might have encouraged a lot less than 2500 to renew, that wouldn't have otherwise.
It would only have been £525k of lost revenue if everyone would have spent £50 in the shop anyway. Plus, in some cases people would use the voucher and also spend some cash in the shop, over and above the £50, that they wouldn't have.
There would also be additional spend at the kiosks.
Even if it had meant we were no better off, 12,500 fans cheering the team on would be better than 10,000.
Anyway, there's always a balance to be struck with these things and it's never easy to get right. And you don't always know with hindsight whether or not you got it right.
