I'm sure some of the details are buried in other threads but I'm travelling from Porty to the game tomrrow. Usually park near Pilrig. Are the only car crossing points London Road/Elm Row and Duke Street? Quicker along Seafield/ Shore then up to Bonnington?

Mcdonald Road was open last week but was right turn onto Leith walk only as Brunswick Road is now one way.

I pass that by Brunswick quite often. It used to be no right turn but I'm not sure that's the case now. If it is there's lots of drivers ignoring it.

Since the Foot of the Walk has been changed the traffic in the surrounding areas has been a complete nightmare. Traffic backed up the full length of ER and beyond, all along the Links and Duke Street is usually at a standstill.

If you’re coming from McDonald Road the only option is to turn right on to Leith Walk as there’s no way to turn left to go down the Walk.

Another option is to come along London Road as you can still get access to Annandale Street from the Top of the Walk.

It was really bad yesterday around 2pm. I left work at that time and fortunately was travelling the opposite way from Great Junction Street, along Duke Street and up Easter Road. Due to the narrowing of the road at the Kirkgate, the traffic lights don't allow for the flow of traffic both ways along Duke Street at the same time but also due to this the traffic coming from Great Junction Street blocks the narrow part of the road so when the lights change to green the opposite way they can't move and by the time it clears the lights have changed to red again. Yesterday the traffic was backed up from the foot of the walk, along Duke Street and right up Easter Road to the junction at Albion Road. With Leith Walk closed in that direction, there really isn't much alternative either.

No you can’t do that. Left turn only from Brunswick. You’d need to go up the Walk, round the roundabout to come back down and turn along Annandale. Access McDonald from there. But if you’re coming from Porty, avoid the shambles at the Links and take the London Road option. That would be your best option coming from the East I’d say.

Edit - here’s the bit about approaching from Brunswick Road -

Access from Brunswick Road onto Leith Walk will be a left turn only southbound and is not suitable for vehicles over 3.5T.

I’m assuming you did mean Brunswick Road rather than Street btw.

It’s been like that since Wednesday morning, traffic was backed up all the way to the top of Easter Road when I was out. I ended up going down Restalrig Road and down Links Gardens which is thankfully open again.

Good to know that road has opened again as it's a good option to avoid Easter Road/Duke Street.

Is it? I was around half an hour getting down Lochend road the other day for no obvious reason.

Links gardens has opened up briefly in the past but that was down to someone just having enough and moving the barriers themselves. Is it definitely open again officially?

If you are travelling from Porty why not just park at Sainburys at Meadowbank? Or Alemoor at Restalrig?

The reason would have been down to the Traffic Light change at the foot of the walk. Easter Road, Lochend Road, Leith Links, Duke Street all connected to the same issue.

Half the Sainsbury’s car park is closed the now for them building a drive through Costa so that’s maybe not the best place.

Usually park on Marionville Road coming from that end of town. Path round back of Sainsburys for west stand.

Taking into account it will.be a reduced crowd they should be okay

It’s bad enough just now with around 5/6k or so attending
When we start having full houses, it will be really bad
Doesn’t help with all the congestion around the Playhouse and single traffic on York Place

I didn’t know that, thanks
Is this just this area, or all of central Edinburgh
