To be fair we’re well stocked in midfield with players playing at a higher level than Serie B

Great move for him though. Love the guy.

He's certainly unlucky on that front, the EPL midfielders always seem to the nod, regardless of their Scotland form. It's an area of decent depth for the country at the moment I suppose.

Delighted for Liam, a role model for Scottish footballers who might be hesitant to play abroad.

Thought it bizarre for a while now that a player of that quality doesn't even get a sniff at Scotland squads....

To date in 4 years in Italy he has played a total of 4 Serie A games so is probably a Serie B standard player.
He has signed for a reported 1.5 million Euro's to newly promoted Empoli, a team arguably smaller than Hibs.
All things considered he isn't exactly ripping it up and is a mile behind the likes of McGinn, Gilmour, McTominay etc.
But I do admire him for having the balls to going there and for remaining there.

Have to say a bit of a weird one this, he was on loan with them in the second half of the 2019-2020 helping them getting promoted with them having a option to buy only for him to sign for Lecce and droped back down to seria B.

Only for them to sign him a year later, bizzare  :greengrin

He was on loan there they never got promoted. I think the buy out was around 3 mill and the refused to pay it so he went to Lecce

Is he really a legend? When we won the cup as a championship side he didn't make the starting X1.
A good lad I reckon but famous for taking two excellent corner kicks.
Not convinced he did much more during his time with us but I stand corrected.

OK, I'll bite. If delivering 2 perfect corners to turn the game around from 2-1 down with 10 minutes to go to help win our 1st Scottish Cup in 114 years doesn't qualify you for legendary status then what does?

Henderson was great for Hibs when you consider his youth and inexperience at the time.

A player I really wish we could have kept but I can see why he wanted one last crack at Celtic. Took the big decision to move abroad and seems to be doing well.

Every player that player that day, and at least a couple who didn't make it on the pitch, are legends.

Would have him back in a heart beat but we simply couldn’t afford him now. But he is a Hibs legend and delivered not just 2 incredible corners but a whole lot more once he came on the pitch that day. His entry to the field was one of the defining moments of that day. No doubt a legend

He was involved in most games that season and was a key part of the squad from my memory. I like him as a player, excellent on the ball and I actually preferred him to Fyvie.

He is without doubt a legend for the final alone but he played a big part in that team and I'd have loved to have kept him.

He also got Hibs. One of those players where you could tell we got under their skin.

Very fine margins in football and that Hibs side luckily came out on the right side of that margin. If we'd lost that SC final we'd be talking about the most disappointing season in our history. Losing the League cup final, finishing 3rd in the Championship, not even making the playoff final and losing the Scottish cup final and Henderson would have been a part of that. Luckily, and more importantly deservedly, we won the Scottish Cup and each and every player on the park that day is rightly a legend. It took immense strength of character to bounce back from those two massive disappointments to win the SC. Henderson contributed massively in giving me one of the best days, and certainly best football day in my life. We don't need to bother about the 'what if's' because it's irrelevant.

100%. We had over a century of 'what ifs' that went the other way. Some fantastic Hibs teams didn't manage to win that cup. Every single player is a legend, and should never have to pay for a pint in Leith for the rest of their natural. But if there is any debate, it certainly shouldn't involve the man who crossed the ball for the 2nd & 3rd goals!

It's also noticeable that you disappeared when we won the cup, surely then there was something positive to post?

It does take all sorts or life would be boring and I have noticed you've been complimentary about Scott Allan today :greengrin

Apologies to you young man but I call it as I see it. Some folk don’t agree, water off a ducks back.

Try reading tonight’s match thread. Not much positive being said but don’t see anyone getting pulled up for being negative.

Ok how can I get my content to you for approval?

I’d not read the rules stating only certain views where allowed.

I'm only pointing out that you never post anything positive.

You should cheer up!

People might end up thinking you aren't actually a Hibs fan at all.

Not me. I just think you are miserable. Have you tried meditation?

And for what it's worth you really wouldn't be a lone negative poster on today's match thread, I might even be there with you :greengrin .... its all about balance over the piece, loads of the guys slating the performance have praised them in the past.

Resorting to personal abuse is pretty poor form? Is that the height of your intellectual debating skills? You don’t even know me.

Why not give me something from tonight to be positive about?

Get on the Daz McGregor thread mate! I’d be the most positive guy in the world.

I’m keeping my opinions to myself for fear of offending anyone.

Abuse? Where? I'm sorry you think that.

I genuinely think that you are miserable.

A positive? Magennis continues his goal scoring run. What a player he is turning out to be! :)

Tough game against a tough opponent!

But seriously, you have now deflected a number of times that you only post negatively on here. If you are in need of support, you can always reach out.

It doesn't offend me that you are negative, just think you would be happier with a cheerier outlook :)

As is there right. Will become pretty dull tho for folk if you only have happy clappers like yourself on.

Yes we got pumped tonight, brilliant days according to you.

I have not posted once about tonight's result.

My original post in this thread was to add my opinion that Liam Henderson was indeed a legend.

I've read the remainder of the thread since posting and you seem to want to portray a martyr who is being picked on when in reality you posted a comment you knew would get a response and have since deflected all replies querying why a Hibs fan would join a fans forum and for the majority of posts to be negative.

You do you though 👍
