With the demise of Hibs Pass, is it the case that those season ticket holders who weren't successful in the ballot arent even getting to watch the game on TV?

I can live with not getting in for this game, but would expect to get in for the next, but will be pretty pissed off if I don't even get to see the game.

What a ridiculous concept. Where do you draw the line on that one? Absolute nonsense.

2 games mate. Everyone sees 1. Or 4 and everyone sees 2. And so on.

Think it is free to ST Holders via Hibs TV instead of Hibs Pass.

You can relax as you’re going to be able to watch for free.

That would be correct if it weren’t for the fact hearts had less allowed against Celtic with 4 stands open.

It doesn’t make sense though. If it’s based on social distancing why would we be allowed to close two stands and pack everybody in to the other two?

They’ll be showing it somewhere - they’ll have to otherwise the T&Cs they hang their hat on won’t have been met.

Don't think we have an answer on that yet.

I was assuming that every home league game would be available for ST holders to watch online the same as last year.

It would then be an individual choice for ST holders to go to the game or watch online irrespective of crowd numbers and restrictions. I'm hoping this is the case.

I see where you're coming from, but I look at it differently.....

If I buy Gold, I'm paying the standard price for a ticket.

If I buy Bronze, I get a discount off the standard price for having a crap seat. Silver, somewhere in-between the two.

Whereas others are saying, "if I buy Gold, I'm paying more for a decent seat".

It's a state of mind thing :greengrin

It’s Alistair Campbell here :hilarious

What is the extra (or the discount) for when you don’t get to go and watch?

No issue not getting selected for the ballot and as for the thought that folk with dearer seats should get priority, not for me at all. Not Hibs class that one in any shape or form

I may be reading your replies incorrect but are you suggesting that those who pay more should be entitled to more?

I simply don`t see it like that. I pay more for my seat (my choice) but I do not think it should entitle me to more, especially in a ballot

I said further up I’m not sure how/if Hibs could’ve done it but it’s certainly how other businesses approach customer service.

It doesn’t make sense though. If it’s based on social distancing why would we be allowed to close two stands and pack everybody in to the other two?

This is why there was so much confusion on the other thread arguing about the council and government.

I don't follow the detail around Covid at all. I get little snippets on the news and read stuff on here. I don't go following government websites every day to check infection rates and hospital bed occupancy etc. I'm very much a layman when it comes to this stuff.

So, when I see 2 full stands and 2 empty ones, and folk tell me it's because of social distancing, well, I simply can't understand or believe that.

I'd imagine there are quite a few who think along similar lines.

I can understand your comments about other businesses treating those who pay more better.

But does any football club treat fans better if one pays slightly more than another. Obviously those that sponsor games get more because they pay way more than me and I don`t have a problem with that.

It gets my goat that some think because they pay a smidgen more over a season that they think they are entitled to stuff or preferential treatment

Surely it’s the club’s definition that those paying for Gold seats get more (ie a better seat) than lower priced tickets?

It is true though that businesses treat customers who pay more, better.

Go on a plane, see how economy class get treated in comparison to business or first class.

The Sky example was good as well, they’ll do far more for a customer with everything than they will a customer with the bare minimum.

Banks give better rates to wealthier clients.

Tesco give more Clubcard perks to those that spend more.

Subway give you free food if you spend enough with them.

There are relatively few businesses that don’t take that approach to some extent.

Edit - I’m not saying Hibs should be doing anything here, btw.

2 games mate. Everyone sees 1. Or 4 and everyone sees 2. And so on.
And where it falls down is if there are odd numbers of games. But I guess you want everybody to get a prize if they have seen an odd number of games. Does that also include folk who couldn't make the ballot for whatever reason or is that just their hard lines?

I'm pretty sure you've been harping on about rewards and compensation etc since the STs were first put on sale. Being a football fan isn't like being a customer of a bank, subscriber to Sky/Virgin, mobile phone company or whatever. When we commit to the cause, it's not for material rewards. At least not for me anyway.

That for me is what it's all about. Hibs are in my blood. If the unthinkable had happened with Mercer, I'd have been anywhere watching the reborn Hibs. As long as I can see my team that is what matters most. If I have to miss the odd game because there's not enough room for all of us and it's down to a lottery, then so be it. If I've paid slightly more than anybody else, the most I expect from that is that I get to sit in the seat of my choice once everybody can get back in the ground again. Simple as that.

We have our tickets, which I'm happy about ofcourse, but it must be gutting if you haven't succeeded in the ballot, especially if you've forked out for the two euro games and the Arsenal friendly.
There wont be a problem next Sunday as I dont think we will sell more than 6k for the killie game and surely by the time we play Livingston all the season ticket holders will be in.

Just fairness and equality. If this is the only ballot required then those that missed could be offered a ticket to the Killie game or something.

For free?

So we should potentially give 4,500 people free tickets, thus meaning we are due money to killie for 2,250 tickets that we don't sell?

I coudnt care tbh.

Motherwell told fans that they would do something and have stuck by it - however it will have an impact on the cash available for players etc. But not as big an impact as us, as their relative ST numbers are lower.

Anyone unsuccessful in the ballot watches the game for free (like we did for all last season) as part of the deal for buying a ST. Everyone knew that from day 1.

Asking for cheaper / free admission to Killie match just takes money away from Hibs.

Could somebody post instructions as to how to go to the part of the ticketing site where you see if there's tickets (or see the message 'resend E-Mail').

Since they changed the website, I've found the whole thing totally confusing.

I can’t make out if I’m in the wrong or not.

Utilita are doing a giveaway for 2 pairs of tickets for the game tomorrow for following/RTing the post on Twitter.

I’ve replied saying it’s poor timing & unfair on supporters who have paid for an ST but are unable to attend the game through no fault of their own.

And folk are saying I’m wrong and that sponsors are entitled to do this, that’s why they pay their money etc.

I do not have an issue whatsoever with sponsors running giveaways etc, it happens in every business. But I have an issue with them doing it when existing season ticket holders have paid large sums of money and due to current restrictions can’t get in.

The timing seems extremely poor to do this whilst operating at reduced capacity, although only 4 tickets it’s taken them away from 4 season ticket holders who have missed out on seeing their team in the league at home for over 18 months and I just think it’s unfair.

It isn’t taking it away from ST holders. We will have tickets for every game that are allocated to sponsors, guests etc.

It is unfortunate we can’t all get in quite yet but it is also important we can still act commercially and have relationships with sponsors.

No, that’s not how it works, it would be giving tickets away for free that will otherwise be paid for.

5000 people have paid for a ticket that hasn’t been sent out.

This is all based on the assumption that there’s only going to be one ballot.

No they havent.

Hibs (along with every other club who have sold STs) were explicit in not guaranteeing that people will be able to see every match in person.

What they have done, and delivered is an alternative - HibsPass last season - allowing people to watch online when people cant get in.

When we are in a transition stage of limited crowds, the two tier situation tomorrow was pretty much guaranteed to happen and I find it odd that anyone has been taken by surprise at this............

As I mentioned above, giving away tickets to a league cup match is not a freebie as Hibs need to give 50% of the agreed price of each to Killie.

I understand your frustration, but the conditions of buying a ST were well known ahead of the time you renewed.

If there’s only 1 ballot as expected then there should be something done to even it out. There was no mention of one 50/50 ballot in the conditions it was all about weighted ballots etc on the assumption that there’d be multiple.

I agree with you on this. There’s seems to me a bit of a “tough sh*t” attitude from Hibs regarding this, as there was with the tiered season ticket prices from last season. If clubs with smaller resources than us can make a gesture, why can’t we ?

As it's likely to be only one ballot I'd like to see the club do something for those that missed out.

£10 voucher to use in clubstore/ kiosk/ ticket purchase for example.

I think we've all put enough into the club that £50k should be doable (esp if Doing is sold)

I've not got a printer and don't use Google Pay - has anyone in a similar position just scanned the QR codes from opening the PDFs of their tickets on their phones to get in OK before?

Yeah I've done that for past 2 games and it's been fine. Scanners actually seem lot better than they have been in the past.

Your thinking were my thoughts exactly.

No problem with sponsors having access to tickets. But the timing is terrible. Wait a week, then run the competitions.

Just got this

We can confirm this is an administrative error. Unfortunately, if you have received this email today you have not been successful in the ballot. Any ticket without a seat number, or any email sent today confirming you been successful in the ballot, has been sent in error. We are afraid you have been unsuccessful.

Those who have valid tickets, selected via the ballot, received confirmation on Friday. Only those contacted then, with tickets that included seat numbers, are eligible to attend the game.

We are really sorry for any confusion and appreciate fans who received tickets today will be disappointed. We will confirm your unsuccessful application later today in order to avoid any confusion.
