Dundee already seeded, would imagine hearts and st mirren will both win, meaning it would be 2 of hearts (+7) st mirren (+6) and Dundee Utd (+8) to see who else gets seeded.

Wonder what would happen if hearts won 2-1 and st mirren 2-0 - all three sides would be same points same gd same goals for and against, how would they work that out, or if hearts won by a few and st mirren won 2-0. Knowing the SPFL they’d draw names out of a hat!

"If clubs are level on points at the end of the group stage, the criteria for separating them is 1) goal difference, 2) goals scored, 3) away goals scored, 4) matches won, 5) away matches won, 6) drawing of lots."

I would have had fewest bookings also in there before drawing of lots.

Seeds and non-seeds could like like this, if Hearts and St Mirren win 2 goals tonight, and my maths is right😀

Seeded
Rangers
Celtic
Hibs
Aberdeen
St Johnstone
Dundee
Hearts
St Mirren

Non seeds
Kilmarnock
Motherwell
Dundee Utd
Ayr Utd
Raith
Livingston as one of best runners up
Arbroath as one of best runners up
Dunfermline as one of best runners up

Crazy. Slight issue with bookings is teams just being handed ties, so no chance to pick up bookings in those games. Remember seeing a team could have been put out of the World Cup if everything was level, which is just absurd.

Yeah, fair enough. Maybe average bookings per game.

Don't think they had a say in it. The creditors liquidated them.

That is when they died, became defuncted, ceased to exist and the new club who won their first league title took over.

Potential draw for us today:

Arbroath
Ayr
Dunfermline
Kilmarnock
Livingston
Motherwell
Raith
Dundee Utd or Hearts (if Hearts fail to win with at least two goals scored)

We should really be wanting Arbroath, Ayr, Dunfermline or Raith here. Kilmarnock would probably be ok. The others I'd rather avoid (esp Hearts as I probably won't be able to make the game).

Hearts have been horrendous here but they’d be a different animal in a bigger game.

Jamie Walker just took the ball to the corner to try and see it out. They need another goal to get seeded. You’d think they’d have told the players that.

Pipped to it by St Mirren and Dundee who were both helped by being awarded 3-0 wins. 😂

They also won all their games and didn't lose a goal either.

Newly promoted teams to the top league shouldn't be seeded in in this Cup competition anyway!

Don't know why they didn't go all-out to score a few, they could have lost the game and would have been no worse off.

Neilson isn't dumb. Getting knocked out by Celtc (even this season's Celtc) won't affect his job security. Hearts have already sacked him once for losing to lower league opposition in 2016.

And how often do we get drawn against the old firm? Rarely ever. And that’s been going on far longer. Look at it whichever way you want but for many a year we have been extremely fortunate with our draws.

Going down that route rangers and Celtic ‘draw’ each other nearly every year. It’s quite easy to draw a side when they’re 1/3 left in, but our draws up to semi finals are as easy as anyone’s.

Agree our draws have been decent recently however bizarrely we had Hearts at Tynecastle three years in the bounce after we won the cup. You did say we draw Old firm rarely ever which isn't really the case.

In the last 13 seasons in the Scottish we have only drawn Celtic once (quarter final) and in the league cup Celtic 3 times (two semis and a quarter) and never away from home.

Never drawn Rangers.

I’d say that’s rarely ever! 4 times out of 26 competitions and probably the best part of 50-75 draws.
