Anyone know what the quality of food was last night. Curious to see if the pies etc are of a better quality.

The steak pie was ok - far from the “best in Scotland” but the chips were excellent. Almost like wedges, nice and chunky.

Posted on another thread, nothing on ticket website, so presume it’s all buy on the day
I’d get in the queue early if I was you, after the queues on Thursday

Ron Gordon will be walking round the stadium pre match today - so don’t be surprised if you see him chatting with fans.

I'd like to know this as well. It's about time we had even half decent coffee at the game and the club could rake it in if they get it right.

Afternoon all,
Kiosks will be open today in a similar fashion to Thursday’s game but with no click and collect available today.
Purchase on the day - This will be offered in the East and the West Lower only.
Mostly a full menu will be available, but supporters will only be able to make purchases by card.
Once food has been received, supporters must immediately go to their seats.
The food and drink kiosks will be closed as soon as the game begins (not open at half time).
We’ll see immediate improvements here with each passing game and restrictions easing - new items will be added to the menu, more kiosks open and smoother operation.

I was in the West Lower and the kiosks weren’t open. I went round at halftime and the shutters were down, you could see people inside but they never opened. This was down at the FF end.

I was in the West Upper (North) and the kiosks were shut but they must have been open downstairs as folk were getting grub from somewhere! (Pre kick off)

The kiosks weren't open in the East when I went down 30 mins in to the first half. All the shutters were closed all the way along the East. I spoke to one of the stewards who said the kiosks were only open before the game and wouldn't be reopening.
Seems like a big missed opportunity to have tried out the new kiosks at half time while we are still only at 5k attendances. Surely half time is when most people visit these.

Minimal tills open in the East and West lower yesterday - scaled back operation opening only until Kick Off for the home games played so far (as permitted by Edinburgh Council) but that will ramp up now - I’ve offered to support with more comms on this until we’re up to full operation on game days.
The quality of food (and drink) on offer is night and day what was provided before (I know, I know I was always going to say that but it’s true).

Could free water be available elsewhere for people who just need a quick sip to take medication? Maybe a water cooler or a tap that is sourced to drinkable water? Something that is Covid/germ safe of course.
I and many others don’t want to stand in a queue for 20 mins just to ask for some tap water to take a tablet.

There was a vegan option at the last match, I think it was the 'without beef' steak pie, it was one of the meal deal do da's for £7.50 which a lot of people have been complimentary about. They also have a cheese twist something which is a veggie option (can you tell I only glanced at the menu?). Great that we are catering for this now, it has been a long time coming.

East stand kiosk before the game. Long queue but moved quickly. Staff clearly in learning mode but very friendly.
I had the veggie/vegan(?) hot dog and it was excellent + thick cut crinkly chips. There was a margarita pizza twist & a meat-free pie.
All in all a massive upgrade in quality in veggie options. :aok:

I think this would be a great idea. On Sunday I took an unopened plastic bottle of water for my daughters as had previously been allowed at both European games. I was told at the entrance to the East I'd have to drink it or dump it and the reason I was given was "The kiosks are open". As soon as I walked into the stand I got told the kiosks were closing meaning my 2 youngsters had nothing to drink which led to some moaning particularly during the 2nd half!!

Motherwell did this a few weeks ago for Hibs fans
They supplied plastic cups
Maybe encourage fans to bring their own plastic bottle to fill up with
Even sell a bottle to help pay for it

As others have said the new chips are good, crinkle-cut wedge type things.
Ordered a burger but were none left by the time i got to the kiosk so settled for a steak pie, it comes wrapped in a see-through plastic wrapper, i preferred the tin holders you got them in before to be honest but suppose i wouldn't be saying that if i dropped it.
Wasn't the best pie i've ever had and think they were better previously.
£7.50 for a pie, chips and a drink is better value for money than before, on the previous menu these things would cost you about £10 all together IIRC.

Can't see them allowing even empty plastic bottles to be brought in if you can then fill them up once you're in, for the same reason you can't bring in a full plastic bottle.

Got the kids meal for £4.50 and I'm not sure if there's any difference to the adult meal. He got a pizza twist which seemed huge, what seemed like full portion of chips and a drink.

Realistically how many people are taking a tablet in the 2 hours we are at the game? I'm not sure enough to justify the cost of water coolers in each stand? I'm sure if you explained to a steward theyd get you a cup of tap water without queuing or your be allowed a small bottle of water on medical grounds?

We're claiming to be the greenest club in Scotland, having water coolers and encouraging fans to bring refillable bottles instead of buying plastic bottles of water each game is exactly the approach we should be taking.

I'm not sure the cups used right now are recylable, unless they switched to vegware?
As an aside, if they were ever allowed to sell beer in the stand (debatable if that will ever happen) under Scottish licencing law they'd have to also provide free tap water.

Rononomics won't allow anything that gets in the way of selling stuff.
Suspect he has an angle on the green thing e.g. the company that provides the service does so free of charge in exchange for free advertising of their company on Hibs TV etc.

The cups are recyclable. Vegware (other brands such as eco products are available) is compostable packaging, which is different to recyclable
