I woke up this morning with a spring in my step for sure - back to Easter Road at 7pm for the first time in almost 18 months.
Doidge is likely to be on the bench due to match fitness, whilst JDH, Cadden & Mackie are all out of contention. JDH expected to be in the squad next week for the return leg.
I'd go with the following;
Macey
McGinn
Porteous
Hanlon
Doig (if fit enough, if not Lewy)
Boyle
MacKay
Newell
Gogic
Allan
Nisbet

Not so sure the team should be getting posted on here, or anywhere on social media.

Magennis for Gogic. A toss up between Mackay & Bradley.
Santa Coloma are going to sit in and be stuffy, so no need for Goga the Great in the engine room from the start.

I suspect we'll start with Stevenson based on Doig comments about still regaining fitness after having coronavirus. No point risking him when we have someone we know is dependable ready to come in.

I thought we might have got rid of this nonsense from last season, but here we go again.
That is we don’t need Alex Gogic against so called lesser teams.
Unfortunately no one told these teams they were supposed to be lesser teams and there were times when Gogic wasn't included that Hibs suffered the consequences.
As far as I’m concerned if Gogic is fit and available,he plays.

I agree, Gogic is fine on the ball but more importantly allows the more forward thinking players to be more cavalier.

I assume Marciano will be on the bench and Macey will play because it's a cup game.

Apparently we're bringing in some guy called Logan.

Some of our best midfield performances last season also came when he was out of the team.
His technique and passing is a long way off our other centre mids and our build up through the midfield is even slower than usual when he plays.
Was easily the player most at fault for the goal conceded in the Scottish cup final, no need to dive in like that at all, such an obvious clumsy attempt at a challenge which Wotherspoon read easily before roasting him.
he's a useful player to have and I would play him now and again against "lesser teams" as sometimes you need a physical enforcer in there against your ross counties and hamiltons, but I personally wouldn't be starting him every week.
The Andorran team will be far below us in quality and fitness, are they even full time? I'd play Newell and Magennis as the double pivot in midfield to take the game to them and control the midfield.

Could add to the debate on Gogic but that’s not what this thread is about.
Like the look of the team in the OP,but might tend to start with Stevenson to give Doig more time to gain full fitness.
Also if Hibs have built up a good lead might it be time to bring on Dabrowski for Macey to give him some first team experience.
Plus if the lead is sufficient what about giving Dabrowski a start in the second leg.

Not sure about bringing on Dabrowski (purely because if he then gets injured you've no keeper). Get the scoreline to a point where he can start in the away leg.
Would like to see some of the younger players given 20/30 mins if it's as one sided as the bookies suggest.

……….………..Macey………..
McGinn…Porteous….Hanlon….Stevenson…
…………Magennis…..Newell……
Bradley………….Allan………….Boyle……
………….………Nisbet……….
Really surprised Bradley has started ahead of McKay against Arsenal and Raith but I suppose it was maybe just a chance to see what he could do.
I’m really looking forward to seeing McKay with us due to how direct and quick he is, also already chipped in with a couple of goals.
Bradley is another exciting prospect but different player, a lot more finesse about his game and will cut in and try create.

If anyone's coming by car the available parking round the stadium is the best I've seen it in years! Got parked very near the top of St Clair St.
