Very good of the Andorran football association to show the game for free.

So it's £9.99 for our Tam McManus or free for the Andorran Tam McMamus. 🤔

Yes, you can follow that link on Thursday and then click on our game, or this link should take you to the game directly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vqtVVzflaM

'Subscribe' in this context means more like 'following' the channel – you get notifications of new posts etc. It doesn't mean a paid subscription.

Don't want to have a go at Hibs but do they expect people to pay £9.99 when it's free on Youtube to watch.

I signed in to Youtube and pressed subscribe (expecting to see cost of the match) and the screen just changed from subscribe to subscribed. No charge involved so far - maybe a fee will be asked for on the day/night?

PS. just caught the reply above - so can verify no charge.

I agree it is poor. Guessing they will use the same feed too.

What if the YouTube stream doesn't work and Hibs had decided against providing one even though they could have (at a cost)?

Would that be poor form?

If they are providing a free stream then Hibs could too if they wanted to?

A thank you to the fans, go onto ppv site, click link and the game will be there Thursday.

That would have been a good touch.

And lose money?

Hibs aren't forcing anyone to take the PPV option.

£9.99 is a bit steep for Cliff and Tam sitting at ER commentating over the exact same feed that will be available for anyone to watch for nothing with Spanish commentary. If the price was say £4.99 I’d imagine there would be a lot more people that would pay for it.

On the point of Hibs losing money, how much do you think this will be costing them? Very little I’d imagine

It could well be that the Andorran federation who are apparently doing the YouTube stream are also paying a fee that they're not fussed about recuperating.

Yes true.

£9.99 is actually OK but given it is free I just can't see much uptake.

I’ll definitely be watching Hibs tv on ppv. The production process doesn’t come free so it’s a small price to pay to put a little in to the club. Not knocking those who’d prefer to watch a YouTube feed with Spanish commentary but I’ll settle for the home grown version.

Is there any way of getting the HibsPass type stream to cast to a proper TV?

I would prefer to watch Hibs TV but I will watch the You Tube stream on my TV rather than a Hibs stream on a laptop and pay £9:99.

For some reason casting direct doesn't always work, so when I go to the cast button in chrome I choose "cast screen" from "sources", stick the video on full screen and it works fine.

Is your laptop quite new? When I stream it on mine the quality doesn't seen as good as phone/Tablet.

I just changed laptop a few weeks ago and the one I was using up until then was from 2012 (a work one with high end graphic performance).

You're right though, it's probably not super HD or whatever, but definitely watchable - especially with the erratic internet & wifi connections at my place.

In saying that, there's probably a setting I could change somewhere to make it cast directly (as opposed to casting the screen), but it doesn't bother me enough to spend time looking for it.

I think some fans forget the club has lost millions in the pandemic and to charge £9.99 is a bargain in my eyes.Normally the club would have probably 10,000 at the home leg.I have a season ticket and am happy to help the club survive in these hard times. An hour and a half of live football at the cost of 2 pints not bad at all.

I think my TV's about 9-10 years old so it was before Smart TVs were standard (I use a chromecast to cast/mirror stuff). It works fine so I'll be using the same set up until it packs in.

By lower quality do you mean the resolution of the video or the smoothness?

Your laptop would have to be absolutely ancient to make a difference in resolution – the source is limited to 720p. One thing to check is to click on the settings cog on the video player and make sure it's set to the highest quality. I hope this isn't patronising, but is the difference maybe just the size of screen? A video that looks fine on a phone screen can look grainy (at the same resolution) on a larger screen just because it's been enlarged.

If the issue is that the video is a bit jerky, that might be because your laptop is old and struggling to render it.

I think I would rather watch for free on Youtube and pay monthly into HSL Fans who pay up to £420 for a ST and go a season or more not sitting in their seat and donate to HSL deserve a break Thanks to FAF for providing that. No disrespect to our club it must show business acuemen and under the circumstances is providing a unique service i.e. commentary in English which costs

Hibs TV stream cancelled according to the Daily Record. Hibs have said that they couldn’t guarantee the quality and there was only a one camera option.

It is the daily record after all but it does seem YouTube might be the only way to watch the game now
