Probably mentioned elsewhere but I see he's presenting on Hibs TV tomorrow. Is this a regular thing?

It might be nostalgia talking but I always liked him. Hopefully a bit more natural than his predecessor.

I heard his voice presenting golf a while back and it made me realise I really missed his presenting skills.

Hopefully this is a regular thing.

Sorry, when I was attending black tie doos back in the day, Dougie's after dinner speeches used to put me to sleep - sorry Dougie!

Nothing to do with the wine/meal of course. :-)

Good stuff, proper consummate professional. Jock Brown commentating on the Motherwell game last season was excellent as well.

Looking back on last season I enjoyed hearing Jock Brown’s dulcet tones after a long absence but I thought the most biased commentary team by far were the two guys on Killie TV then again it takes a lot to beat HunTV :greengrin

I’ve always regarded Jock Brown commentaries as a legal form of slow and painful assisted dying.

I wouldn't have thought so. We did fine on Hibs TV for years without one and I'm not sure the expense of a programme would be justified.

I really liked Jock Brown. "and Hibs now surely destined to win the cup" are immortal words ingrained in my memory banks from 1991.

McLean was 100% the presenter and not on commentary on both our trips to Pittodrie last season.

Ok cool I must be going senile. Can definitely remember Dougie doing it on one of their other games, want to say Motherwell or St Mirren and Rob in their away game v Hamilton when they drew. Maybe a one off on both counts.

Not seen it but Donnelly will be an upgrade (I think the abuse for Tanner was OTT) but he’s a very good presenter and much more experienced than Tanner.

No doubt still reading out adverts every few minutes though.

DD was excellent today, better than David Tanner as expected. He is a better presenter though. It was his career for decades after all. Still think the abuse Tanner gets is out of order, definitely not ‘Hibs class’’.

Like Tanner he won’t have great knowledge of Hibs but the difference between him and DT is he’s just so natural and laid back.
No awkwardness and thankfully no cheesiness. A class act.

There was a few awkward silences during the halftime review, that might have been down to the guests right enough. On a related note I wouldn’t have had yogi on again after his comments about Boyle last season.

At one point Yogi admitted to being a HIBS fan which had been open to some debate as many thought he might be Celtic ? ?

I personally am in no doubt he is a Hibby

I think it's fair to say that Yogi is a Hibs and Celtic fan, as weird as that might sound to so many of us.

Dougie made Hibs TV considerably more watchable than Tanner's Hibs TV last season. It wasn't perfect, he seemed to be looking at another camera for much of it but he was much more calming rather than the stifled atmosphere Tanner created.

So do we have an option to buy Donnelly or was it just a loan? Really think if we get him on a permanent deal it could be huge for our season. Wonder if it will depend on us managing to punt Tanner? Could always send Tanner out on loan to Civil Service Strollers.

Would seem to be that Tanner was only on a 1 year deal as he hasn’t been asked back to do Hibs tv.
