Thinking about it, although they are the unseeded team I’d like to avoid the Gibraltan team. Temperatures there at this time of year can be in the low 30s which could be a real leveller in the away leg.

What’s the standard like?

Mons Calpe would really struggle in our League 2, Santa Coloma are technically quite good but their build-up is slow and they look a bit iffy at the back.

Sounds like we shouldn’t be worried about either. Do the business in the home leg and then we don’t need to worry too much about conditions away from home.

This was Mons Caple's first ever game in a European competition. Santa Coloma have only won one 2 legged European tie. We should be able to put the tie to bed at ER in the first leg.

We are. The draw for the 3rd qualifying round is next Monday, 19th, so we’ll know the next round opponents before we play the 2nd round
3rd round dates are 5th and 12th August
When are larger crowds allowed back into Scotland?

That depends what sport you are playing or if it is a UEFA competition!

Note, I know this is a UEFA comp, but you know what I mean

I think the buzzwords you’re looking for is “international significance”.

That decides how many people are allowed in a stadium in the same city a few miles apart.

Or if you take Murrayfield and Tynecastle into consideration, you’re probably talking meters as opposed to miles.

The whole country's supposed to be going to level 0 next Monday.

That allows 2,000 people to attend an all seated event in an outdoor stadium without the need for applying to the council or Scottish Government for a higher attendance but could be increased.

From 9th August we are due to have full capacity.

As long as we reach level 0 by then, 2,000 people can attend that fixture without Hibs needing to apply for more.

A word of caution though, I believe we're due an update tomorrow about the route map and Sturgeon hinted last week that all of level 0 may not happen from next Monday. I'd imagine that if there's going to be any part of level 0 not happening straightaway, large crowds at football matches may well be one of those things.

Scotland is only due to move to level 0 on 19th July which still has restrictions in place.

Our equivalent of England's 19th July is on 9th August.

You can travel anywhere , the zone the country is in dictates what you have to do when you return.
Andorra is in the amber zone.
It is possible to get basic flight with Ryanair Edinburgh to Barcelona for £50 return and shuttle transfer from Barcelona to Andorra around £80 return .
Not much use when no away fans allowed

I did exactly that skiing back in 2019.

We flew into Barcelona and picked up a hire car. Takes just shy of 3 hours to get to Andorra la Vella (the capital and pretty much the only city in Andorra). Some stunning scenes on the drive up.

Andorra la Vella is tiny and totally walkable.

There’s a main drag in the town with a number of pubs, restaurants and bars.

Booze is very cheap as the whole country is duty free.

They use Euros (despite not being in the EU).

Any questions, give me a shout.

Perfect apartment in Andorra for watching the game with a balcony overlooking the pitch. Unfortunately for others it is now no longer available…

Don't forget, the #UECL third qualifying round draw is this afternoon and the winner of our tie against FC Santa Coloma will face one of...

▪️ Gżira United 🇲🇹 𝘰𝘳 HNK Rijeka 🇭🇷
▪️ FC Paços de Ferreira 🇵🇹
▪️ KAA Gent 🇧🇪 𝘰𝘳 Vålerenga Fotball 🇳🇴
▪️ Drita 🇽🇰 𝘰𝘳 Feyernoord 🇳🇱

So basically Feyenoord, Gent, Rijeka or a team that finished 5th in Portugal. Lol

And that's not even the play off round.

If we beat a seeded team, we'll be seeded in the play-off.

Mons Calpe would really struggle in our League 2, Santa Coloma are technically quite good but their build-up is slow and they look a bit iffy at the back.
Just like us then!

If we beat a seeded team, we'll be seeded in the play-off.

Is that definitely true?

I thought how it worked was that we would inherit their (higher) coefficient, but that with a load of new teams coming straight in at the play-off round (Spurs etc) it wouldn't necessarily mean we were seeded. Could be wrong…

Don’t think the Portuguese league is that strong outside the top 3 or 4 is it?

Don’t know anything about Gent or Rijeka. Did Aberdeen not beat a Croatian team a few years back though?

Actually thought it was them but a quick Google search tells me Rijeka beat Aberdeen.

Pretty sure Rangers beat Rijeka recently too.

All these teams are better than us, that can't be argued. How much better they are is up for debate.

Found the answer to my own question here: https://kassiesa.net/uefa/seedecl2021.html (need to scroll down to the play-off round section).

We should be seeded if we beat Feyenoord or Gent.

We wouldn't be seeded if we beat Rijeka or Pacos – their coefficients are high enough to make them seeds in the 3rd qual round, but not the play-off round.

Yeah, it looks like their first game is 19th September. Maybe Billy read the date wrong with it being the 19th today.

Rijeka would at least be a 50/50. The Croatian league isn’t better than ours.

The rest are better than us but Gent finished 7th in the league last season so maybe they’re not as strong at the moment

Seeding doesn’t matter for home/away. It’s determined by the team that is drawn out first, plays at home first.

ta, if we play spurs in the semi-final i hope we are at home the 2nd leg :)

i presume this method has just started ? seeded sides always got the 2nd leg at home as a slight advantage  i've not been paying attention again, off-topic....i saw that draw and i recognised 5 sides out of about 20 on the screen, where the heck do they all spout up from
