There seem to be tickets left for the Dunbar United game tomorrow:

https://app.fanbaseclub.com/club/dunbar-united

Anyone recommend the best places to park? Alternatively I see there is a train at 6:30 from Waverley and one back about half nine that only takes about 25 minutes - any idea how long it would take to walk to the ground.

Railway line goes right behind the ground and the station is only a 10 min walk away [emoji106]

I can see the pitch from my window. Tenner entry and I’ll even stick some pies on and authentically burn them.

Is it a grass or an astro pitch?

A section of covered standing it looks like. I read from their Facebook page that they plan to build a new stand - with weather like this it can't come soon enough!

To be fair the pitch (grass) looks very good.

Need to ensure they're burnt but also soggy and lukewarm in the middle for that proper authentic experience

Always a great surface at Hallhill. You are better going through the new housing estate just past asda for access and parking.

Those pies are good. However, I see mention of the Linton Butchers. I think they have “upgraded” as those are the best pies in the region.

I see the Preston vs Hearts game at the Pennypitt sold out tonight…. Do you think the Hibees will manage a sell out in Dunbar?

Not the best night for fitba and the young guns struggled with the slick pitch. Keeper made a mess of the first goal but played well after that. Thought both the trialists did well and looked physically up to the challenge. Dunbar were the better side for me and our youngsters should have learnt from that. We tried to play the ball to quickly and continually gave away possession cheaply. Nobody looked ready for the step up to me but it was only a single game in hard conditions. One thing we talked about was how quiet we were as a team. Not many shouts

Wookie, can’t disagree with the key points. We actually commented on the way home how quiet they were, but most of the lads are only 16 and a few are 17.
Playing against older and stronger opposition will bring them on though
Dunbar have a good little set up, good pitch and we got a warm welcome
Not sure when these lads next have a game

I thought the keeper was caught out by a bad deflection? I also thought the trialists were average at best but I agree about us being quiet....it was a tough physical game but remember most of our players are 16 or 17.

The Dunbar Lads played well, knocked it about well and far more passes on the deck than us. They were the typical junior side with a silky left sided midfielder, tough moaning centre mid and a couple of big centre halves. Like most junior side they played efficient football keeping it simple and making sure you got a cross in or a shot on goal when you got to the final third. The type of football I like. They certainly showed our youngsters that they have a bit to go in terms of composure and strength. That is just the type of games the lads need though as they will learn from that. As you said Dunbar had a really nice wee set up.

He mistimed his jump imo and tried to palm it over the bar as he was on the way down. It was a big deflection but he made a horlicks of it. Some great saves in the second half though

Good Dunbar performance , some of their earlier pre-season results suggested this would be comfortable for our young Hibs side. The Dunbar side looked comfortable, and well ahead of the CS side on Friday.

That was my view too. Number 2 defended really well but never done much when we had the ball. Number 6 held his own physically and got stuck in. Kept it simple with his passing perhaps too simple but the movement wasn't great ahead of him. Both probably looked
decent due to their strength and their determination to get stuck in. I thought most of the team gave Dunbar too much space and were a bit timid.

The lad in left / centre midfield No 16 can certainly play and it struck me he might’ve played before at a slightly better level than he’s at now.
Very composed and comfortable, quick feet and apart from snatching at a chance late on his only mistake was his man-bun.

The torn faced midfielder (bearded fellah) needed a kick in the shins.

Yes, this is correct. The man gave years of service as a player and manager, an undeserved way to leave.
