Sorry if this has been asked (and answered) already but does anyone know where the training camp is? "...the first team squad will also go to England for a private training camp between July 4-9 where they will play two behind-closed-doors games." (Fishy site).
Cheers.

Indeed he was.
Had Andy been Health Secretary now a position he held in the past my view is he would identified what was required when covid first hit
He knew the playbook for this as did senior civil servants .
Boris and co delayed action far too long.
Then the lies and excuses came.
Am not making a political point.
Just an observation and my opinion
Boris and Hancock have failed the Country with this and more
On Topic

Hope the boys have a safe and successful camp with some good game time for most in the friendlies and all fit and raring to go for new season.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I hate how the Prime Minister is referred to as Boris. It makes him sound like a cuddly fool who is harmless.
He is far from harmless and should be looked at seriously. Call him Johnston or something else.

Stayed there one time when being hosted by the Welsh FA. Cracking Labour club not too far away where we watched a champions league final. The hotel had some tribute nights on at the weekend and it was heaving with birds rather than couples - damage central.

From the Sun!!

Boss Jack Ross said: “We’ve had players returning late from international duty, and we’ve had a little bit of Covid-19 disruption that has left us some players short as well.

“We’ve got a fairly congested pre- season because obviously we were involved in the Scottish Cup final that extended our season, and then the European game comes around quickly.

“But the shorter break meant the players didn’t decondition too much.

“This week becomes more refined towards matches and the calibre of the opponent will be challenging.”

What the is the Covid-19 bit he's referring too?

Also from the Sun!!

Hibs are eyeing up a move for Hamilton star Hakeem Odoffin, according to reports.

I managed to catch the second half
We created more chances
A good save from their keeper from a Nisbet header
The other chances were comfortable saves for the Accrington keeper
They scored with about 5 minutes to go
Gogic was playing centre half with Porteous at the time with Cadden
At right back
Their number 7 cut inside unleashed a shot that I think it was KD couldn’t do a lot about
Right at the end Boyle chased an over hit ball
Trapped on the byline
One of their centre half’s went in two footed
Lucky Boyle feet were off the ground or it would have been a leg breaker
Stood with Gary Caldwell he said it was a red
Doolhan comes to chat with Caldwell and Graham Mathie
He shrugged it off as nothing in it
Only pre season but must do better
Sorry it’s not a Johnny Boy report but just thought I’d give my input

I like Hallberg and don't think it's a coincidence that the midfield often looks better when he plays.

He's certainly not the first one I'd be chasing out, put it that way.

The problem we have is that we have quite a lot of midfielders, all of whom are potentially useful but for whom it doesn't always seem to happen for them together and to improve it we're probably going to have to lose one or two along the way.

I liked Slivka as well. Prefer both to Mallan & Allan.
Hallberg has 3 caps for Sweden, Slivka 44 for Lithuania with Mallan & Allan not a single cap between them.
I think folk on here underrate Hallberg & Slivka and massively overrate Scott Allan a player who at coming on 30 has played only 172 league games.

Different players altogether, Slivka and Hallberg being all round central midfielders whereas Allan plays in the hole behind the strikers. Both are decent squad players but aren't consistent enough to be a 1st pick, TBH there's not many if any midfielder that consistent enough to be guaranteed 1st picks.

I liked Slivka as well, for much the same reason as I like Hallberg.

It was easy to criticise him for individual aspects of his performance but whilst he was at the club largely at a difficult time midfield-wise, the midfield often seemed to work better when he was in it than when he wasn't.

Slivka had a good touch and seemed comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and moving it on. We've had / still have players who have are much less able (or prepared) to do so.

GreenCastle

Different players altogether, Slivka and Hallberg being all round central midfielders whereas Allan plays in the hole behind the strikers. Both are decent squad players but aren't consistent enough to be a 1st pick, TBH there's not many if any midfielder that consistent enough to be guaranteed 1st picks.

It’s a fair point.

I couldn’t pick our best midfield unit or the 1 player I wouldn’t leave out.

We have a some decent players but no real star midfielder who runs the game.

Allan has the best youtube highlights reel but is a tough luxury to accommodate.
Coming on 30 and has played only 172 league games he remains uncapped by Scotland.

Slivka and Hallberg are both international players with Slivka on an impressive 44 caps.

Yes. But we have watched them play haven’t we…we’ve seen them with our own eyes.

Allan has won us games, for us out of our seat, Slivka has barely made a difference ever ..other than one of two moments…

Hallberg will have a decent career , but will never hit the heights of Allan’s talent .

They are quite different players to Allan, but I’d much rather have a fit Scott Allan than either of those two ..in fact I’d rather have an occasional fit Scott Allan to those two …

Allan rarely plays 90 mins. But if he’s good for 60+ he can be a match winner.

Allan also only played over 30 games twice since 2011. 2nd highest 16 games..

Point is he can’t be fully relied on but we need depth and as we all know Allan is a game changer when he’s match fit.

He has probably lost us games as well.
In recent times Paddy McCourt scored unbelievable goals for Celtic but he was a luxury who was rarely accommodated.
Years ago Andy Ritchie was a striker who scored unbelievable goals for Morton but again he was a luxury who wasn't accommodated at bigger teams.
Stevie Mallan falls into the same cohort.

It’s funny thinking about Hibs v Stoke. The last game I remember my auld man attending with me was the Stoke friendly in 1976. He left muttering something about how far Hibs had slipped when they were getting beat by a team whose goalie had one eye! It was Gordon Banks right enough but his logic was irrefutable. As it often was.

Based on the extremely limited highlights

Great goal, Murphy actually done really well to make Porteous over hit pass a good one. Great interception and run forward from him though and brilliant first time finish from Allan.

Porteous needs to watch with some passes though, Absolutley melted one into Gogic which resulted in a counter attack.

Josh Campbell just tried to be a bit too clever on those 2 clips.

Would expect Macey to do better with the goal from that angle but you never know it could have took a deflection etc.

Judging anything on 5 minute highlights is ridiculous though.

It will have been a great test and workout for our lads today and good to see so many getting minutes
