Whilst a lot of this post is based on rumours there is a potential to have our biggest transfer budget in the clubs history. If and I know it’s a big IF Hibs sell Nesbit for £4m, Doig for £4m, Porteous for £1.5m, Boyle for £500k and SJM moves for £50m Hibs could have £14m plus to spend on players. The big question is how would Hibs spend it? Or probably more importantly as this is based on rumour how Hibs fans spend it?

Either to buy a team of hawks to fend off all of the seagulls, or pistols for every season ticket holder to deal with them

The Sir David Gray corner between the East and North stands, plus whoever scores next for St Mirren.

Football Manager veteran answer: spend all of it on a combination of transfer fees and increasing the wage budget, allowing the signing of several players that we couldn't normally afford. Gamble that those additions propel you to regular EL (or Conference League) group stage participation, generating extra income that keeps the wage budget affordable after the initial money is spent. Repeat that cycle, plunging every spare penny into transfers and the wage budget until either you're challenging for the title or you've been sacked and the club's bankrupt. If it's the latter, start a new game and maybe try Real Madrid this time.

Real-world answer: a much more conservative version of the above. Use some of the money to push the boat out further than normal on transfer fees and wages, but not in an all-or-nothing way that risks the club's long-term finances if it goes wrong.

Yes yes and yes…at least one MegaRon would be essential.

Hmmmmm £15 Mil eh?? Hearts could build a new Main Stand for that.............................................. ....... with 3 Mil to spare.........................or maybe not !!

Personally Id like to see every (or nearly) penny ploughed in to the player budget, and really push onwards and upwards. Aiming for 3rd every year isn't that much of an ambition.

Yes our budget will always be a fraction of the "big 2" but we need to push on at some point.

And I'm not adverse to a bit stadium enhancement/ expansion/improvement.

Its great to have big money to spend, but it would only be a one off till we have other players to sell?
Big signings mean big wages, we don't have the funds to keep it going unless we sell out every week?
All the big games are an easy sell, its the Ross County's ect. that lets us down!!!

Theres a barrow load of places the money will be going IF there is a windfall, big signings wont happen, cash will be pumped back in to upgrade the stadium and training facilities, fix or modernise other parts, some will be kept long term in the bank just in case of another rainy day, youth set up will be handed some etc,etc....
warm running water in the bogs would be a good start.

IF Villa ever sell him.... Hibs would get 10.5% and St Mirren would get 4.5%.

For example, If the transfer fee was £20M, then St Mirren would get £0.9M and Hibs £2.1M

Anything over about £40M and all three clubs (Villa, Hibs, StM) would break their transfer records in one swoop. That would be quite something.
