Welcome to Hibernian, Jake.

2 year deal for a young player who has shown a lot of promise and quality this season in the league we play in.

Good on the ball, can pick a pass and has a bit of dig about him.

Good interview with him on Hibs Tv.

P.S - Is there a reason we’ve stopped doing individual threads? That the strip and now JDH. Think stuff can be lost unless a specific thread is made hence why I’ve created it.

I think we all managed to notice a few hours ago…

The majority would have.

But my point is more for those that don’t refresh the transfer rumour or Joma kit thread or even have access to social media.

Also allows for discussion on that one specific topic without other stuff in amongst it

Cheers for the arsey reply though.

Yeah mate, think the full interview is about 20 minutes long - might need to have a subscription to watch it though.

You have to sign into HibsTV for the full interview.

I’m not sure if I still get free Hibs TV as a season ticket holder or has that deal ended?

That's all I can find as well. I thought Hibs TV was gifted to season ticket holders to thank us for renewing but not getting to any games, but I might be confusing that with something else, or making it up altogether!

Ah ok just got my log in from last season when it was free with my season ticket.
Used to get these free on YouTube.
Cheers anyway

We've done pretty well out them in recent times, I'm looking forward to see what him and Magennis bring to us this season.

I don't think so, it seems to have been a short term contract so he was a free agent.

Think they only signed him last season so would assume not however would be lying if I said i knew all the ins and outs re development payments.

Nope. He was only on a year's contract and was a free agent. More funds available for other areas.

Young player with potential. Will be on a relatively low wage id imagine. Looked decent when i saw him so will see how he gets on. Up to the lad to show what he's got.

Yes played 90 minutes in our 2-1 win in Paisley in February - the game where their goalkeeper was sent off.

I don't remember anything about him though.

Sure he played the back pass that forced the goalie to get himself sent off

They signed him as a replacement for Magennis. Now we’ve got both.

I’m slightly struggling to see what our plan is here.

Very versatile player who can play a number of midfield roles I think is answer

I’d imagine one or more of Irvine, Mallan & Hallberg will be away this summer so it makes sense to bring more players in for depth

I know it’s a squad game but I’m wondering what way we’re looking to play. Good to have a bit of flexibility but most successful teams have a pretty defined system so I’m interested to see if we will have one or if it’ll be a case of chopping and changing.

Newell is a stick on to play (wouldn’t be for me but he will). So that really leaves a maximum of two places up for grabs in the middle of the park. Gogic and Doyle-Hayes competing maybe. Then a couple of more attack minded players in Allan and Magennis competing perhaps with Hallberg and Mallan out the door.

Then you consider we’ve got 3 wingers (could argue 4 but I’m not counting Wright). So if we want to play with two of them we’ll either end up with one up top which has never really worked well for us or we'll end up with two in the middle of the park which leaves quite a few midfielders sitting on the bench.

I really hope Jack Ross doesn’t persist with trying to play Magennis out on the left. It doesn’t work.

For as long as I can remember we have strikers who look poor up top on their own, I'd like to see a 4-3-3 implemented successfully as it can see it being a nice balanced midfield.

In modern football, it's probably key to have 3 in the middle of the park. 1 up front allows you to do that but the striker needs an all round game. I inow doidge struggled before but with a better midfield he might be able to do it.

Still not sure our midfield is up to much though.

How is it a wee bit much we have just signed a player and they are trying to fill the media content with said player? You must have prefers the days when true media team were getting hammered for not enough content coming out the club

Steady. Just my opinion. I realise that is how social media works these days. I just think it's a bit much, especially asking fans if they're happy with it when in all likelihood we've signed a squad player.

He’s right though. Plenty on here have been slagging the media output recently. So the guy puts out some good stuff from HTC and now is “a bit much”. I want more. The more the better.

Each to their own. Personally can't be bothered with the social media stuff. It's all hot air. We were bombarded with it before the cup final and lost meekly. Rather we did our talking on the park. I'm probably a bit more old fashioned though and know that a lot of fans want to see constant updates online. Definitely increased since Ron came in. Think it's an area that's been targeted.

It’s not about accepting or not …If he had come through their youth system it would have made a difference , but as he only signed one year before , I don’t believe they get that Clause - that is about repayment for developing young players ..

Obviously accepting the deal doesn’t matter because the player wouldn’t be moving if he accepted it.

He was only there a few months so if there’s any compensation due because of his age it would be absolutely minimal.
