Now Gray has retired will Hanlon officially step up? Or will Ross have someone else in mind?

Been a regular captain so wouldn't rule it out down the line.

The guy will be a mainstay in our team for years to come, at least until the big boys come along that is.

Can’t see it being anyone else but Paul Hanlon.

:agree: Did Ross not make him captain of St Mirren?

I wonder if giving the captaincy to Porteous would mature him as a player a bit. He's extremely articulate for a lad his age and has a good presence about him. I think it would really bring him on. More thinking out loud than anything as i think Hanlon will continue with the armband.

I believe so and is why I'm expecting him to be named captain. With a good pre season under him and hopefully he's over the niggling injuries, I'm expecting big things from the boy.

I've said before on here I saw him being made captain sooner rather than later as the final step in his progress from rash young laddie to mature Hibs stalwart. Unfortunately looks like he won't be around to claim the armband.

Hanlon has been the de facto captain for the last couple of years so it's probably a question of who will be the new vice-captain.

Porteous hasn’t shown much capacity for learning so far.

Stephen Mcginn would've been St Mirren captain when Ross was there, pretty sure Magennis wasn't not captain at all under Ross. No chance he is our new captain. Will be Hanlon and rightfully so.
