Would hope we would be holding out for a hell of a lot more , quality left backs are a premium unless your Scottish, if he continues as he finished last season and next season the figure being quoted will be at least £10 million + .
Let's keep what good young players we have, Ron has already said we are losing one of our better players and we can't afford to lose more than one of them.

10 million? not a chance, even if he had Scotland caps would we get that kind of money. We'll sell somewhere between 3 and 4 which imo would be a great piece of business.

It surprised me that Watford bid for Doig after just signing Arsenal’s 31 year old left back to a 2 year contract.

Of course they may well be investing 2.5 million with a view to developing him, but I thought to stay in the EPL would be their immediate and over riding focus this year, rather than plan for their uncertain future.

Then I realised it was the Sun.

£2.5m is pennies to an EPL side, even a yoyo EPL side like Watford. It wouldn't surprise me if they planned to loan him out immediately to continue his development.

We are in a great position here though and I don't see why we would sell him for any less than £3m plus a good sell-on clause.

Hopefully we'll be able to sign a replacement before we get this money or selling clubs are going to bump up their asking prices. Same with Nisbet.
