It was more than refreshing to see a manager set the team up to be positive and actually enjoy their individual responsibilities, it even evoked a sense of pride in an old cynic like me!

It was refreshing to see us play that way, too often in the past we have been scared to play our way out from the back, too scared to take risks and trust our ability, maybe we never had this much ability before, but we seemed to be frightened to try things and when pressured just launched it to the front man and asked him to do it all. :top marks

There was a lot of examples of players being able to breathe and express themselves in the way that they do at club level, with a wee bit composure in the last third it could even have been more enjoyable but perhaps that is me being too greedy, I hope they play with the same sense of positivity and freedom against Croatia but regardless of the result there is cause for optimism.

It's a different game when you have to make some of the running as we found against the Czech Republic and will find against Croatia. Last night was very much like Hibs playing Rangers or Celtic.
England set the pace and to contain them the 7 Scotland players on front of our back 3 were eyes out for the whole game. They were all exceptional.

Agree but the onus will be on Croatia.

The good thing from our point of view is that Croatia have to win as well. That could play into our hands

Hopefully that applies this week too.

Can't see that happening. I think it will be Dykes & Adams again.

I agree. But if it's not working then I'd expect Nisbet to come on after an hour or so rather than be just given the last five minutes.

I would like us to start with Adams and Nisbet to try something different at the start rather than get desperate at the end.It all depends on what he does to replace Gilmour but perhaps he could also start Forrest wide right and keep O'Donnell in reserve to close the game up.We must score and we don't look like doing it with the same old, same old.

Said the very same to my son today why not start with Adams and Nisbet up front just to shake em up

The last sentence sounds oh too familiar

I agree, if we need a goal or two then Nesbit should be given 25-30 minutes. I quite liked what Gary Caldwell said on the radio earlier that having Forrest on too would be key for getting crosses into the box that Nesbit can get on the end of. I recall he got on the end of a Paul McGinn cross near the end of the season where he basically flicked it on into the net. I think he did another similar one as well, maybe a few weeks earlier.
