Doig and Macey, well done! The rest of the team need to take a long look At themselves. Ross appears to be unable to put out a team against St. Johnstone, awful and clearly for me, our team entering the Hamden pitch without McGregor was outrageous! Huge mistake and one that absolutely nails him as an incompetent manager.

Huge mistake and one that absolutely nails him as an incompetent manager. Incompetent or not Jack Ross got Hibs 3rd place the first time in many, many seasons. What team could he have put out? Possibly McGregor as you mentioned for Porteous? The wonderful Marciano for Macey? Murphy on from the start? Don't think he is fully fit. Quite a few players simply didn't perform when it really mattered. You praised the only two players that deserve credit in the match today but the same players got the club 3rd place over a long season. Obviously they can't cope with St. Johnstone though... It's a funny old game! :agree:

Absence of Darren made no difference today the 10 out field players must take full responsibility

I think you’re being kind on Doig.

Macey for the penalty double save was our best player.

Beyond that everyone was brutal. The manager got it wrong but he was let down massively by his players who simply weren’t up for the winning their personal battles.

St Johnstone went man for man and bossed it. We looked, from a very early stage, like we didn’t fancy it. We barely won a header and we lost virtually every second ball.

One of the most abject, disgusting performances i can remember from Hibs.

Doig is 6 ft 2. He got bodied for the goal. No well done from me. He was as bad as anyone. Crossing was dreadful.

:agree: so disappointed. I want to complain about them being negative and boring but we all knew they would be do the t am should’ve known. Just didn’t turn up - only Macey gets pass marks.

Really bad.

They were more attacking than us, to be fair. Only one team that looked like scoring when they went forward.

We were absolute *****. Butcher-era *****.

Really?

Aggression, physicality, leading by example, better defending, being half arsed, experience, in form, spurring on teamates , allowing Hanlon to be more assured and play better, etc etc.

An astonishingly bad decision by the Manager which is only just overtaken by his tactical naivity.

:agree: Porteous' attempted pass that bashed off the back of Kane in the first half told me he was going to have an awful game.

Daz should have played 100%.

:agree: I’m not sure what McGregor would have changed today.

Possibly reading the danger about to arrive in the box from some poor defending on the wing.
Possibly staying close to the man who is the Saints main threat in the box

Possibly a player who actually looks like he enjoys playing for us

Would he have scored? Because he would not have prevented the goal. Therefore as much as I like Darren = no difference

:top marksSeemed blindingly obvious to everyone the last 2 or 3 weeks that he should have started today. He’d have made all the difference.

Sadly we cant move on and fix it like we did after the Ross County final. We have all summer to sit and think about it.

Absolutely, it made a huge difference. The first header won by Daz would have set the tone and inspired others. Instead we had Ryan floundering around again. I still can't get my head round it and I hope that one day Jack Ross will admit he got it completely wrong.

The second balls for me were the big thing. You would expect after you keeper digs you out the **** for the momentum to swing. It didn’t happen, st j continued to win every knock down, tackle, 50/50.

Gutted, however St J deserved it and I feel let down by those that played and massively gutted for guys like Gray and McGregor who would’ve been immensely proud to be on that park today.

Only if you've really got nothing else going on. I hope JR and the team aren't sitting there bumping their gums all summer. Onwards and upwards, changes are required and today was a million miles from being good enough but we go again next season, hopefully in front of some bloody fans!

Don’t despair just accept it Hibs were pish and and a 35 year old CH as much as I love him would have made no difference

Doig was not great today, just didn’t look himself and looked like the occasion got to him.

Macey only one getting pass marks from me and that’s for the double save.

Today was a massive opportunity. There aren't going to be many Scottish Cup finals not involving one of the Infirm.

Remember 2016 when Hibs beat one of the 'Old Firm'? It might suit Hibs to face one of them in a future final (I can dream!). Hibs can't handle it when they're expected to win.

Game was lost when they scored. No fight or urgency any where on park. Players like Boyle and Nisbet deciding no to bother there erse is criminal.

Me too, couldn’t get to sleep for ever for thinking about it so crap night’s sleep, and I’m much more pissed off with them than I was yesterday with the performance.

And in a couple of hours I have to take my daughter to her football match and interact with one or two Jambo parents, oh joy.

But, we’ll get over it, as we always do. I’m just still bewildered by the lack of fight and urgency after the penalty miss. I’d have been buzzing about and chasing everything, there was nothing to lose, but the response was pathetic.

I think it was Alf Ramsey who said something like 'Beware the Blonde player'. What he was really saying was that a player with yellow hair tends to stand out in a football team regardless of his ability. Over the season Doig has been built up into a superstar and it must be his hair wot has done it. It certainly is not his footballing ability. can he trap a ball? A basic skill which seems to be of no interest these days. He 'bombs' forward and he looks like he is 'up for it' but that is about the sum total of his ability now.

Perhaps he will develop into a top player in the future and I sincerely hope that he does. Right now he, himself, should beware of the hype and continue to work at being an all round player. Young player of the year simply goes to show the paucity of choice in the Scottish game.

I think from now on tge Hibs manager should be given the same budget at Motherwell or St Johnstone and the savings passed on to Hibs supporters through tickets.

I've got to a stage where yesterdays result doesn't matter, been let down that many times.
