Well that was pathetic.

Missing McGregor massively. Gutless. Plan A wasn't even a plan.

All on the manager.
Found out tactically.
McGregor should’ve played.
Hallberg should’ve started.
He simply doesn’t know how to win when it really matters.
Incredible achievement to finish 3rd but cup results simply unacceptable.

Jackson Irvine though... offers nothing. Absolutely honking player.

The thing that gets me is this would have been the best chance many players in this squad will ever get to win a cup and they treated it like an after training kickabout.

Not one showed any sign of giving a flying f’k.

100%. Absolutely disgraceful. It’s alright though, Boyle laughing and joking with the Saints keeper at FT.

No fight, no guts but most importantly, no heart today. You can lose a game of football but that is a disgrace today.

Saintees wanted it more. Willing to put their bodies on the line and worked harder and were braver getting on the ball.

Just didn’t see no energy or press off the ball for a start and yet again who does the blame lay on? The players or the manager.

Manager was too loyal to Porteous and Newell.

The rest is on the players though. So insipid from 1st to last. Did we have create a proper chance after the Irvine miss?

Hallberg? That done Absolutley nothing when he came on and normally does nothing.

He’s won plenty big games but today the players just never looked interested

I’ve never seen Boyle and Nisbet have such little about them.

Sums it up perfectly.

Very naive tactics today when you've failed to score against the opposition in the last 3 games. Something had to change today and he changed nothing, so the same thing happened again.

Ridiculous decision to leave McGregor out.

Played like it was a friendly. They figured us out from the start of the kick off. Also Hanlon is a *****bag and shouldn't be captain

All good complaining in hindsight after we've lost the game but knew as soon at St Johnstone scored we'd struggle. Could have played till midnight and not scored. Very deflating performance.

We needed a leader on the park. Someone who would rage and cajole to get other players energy up. Someone like a John Hughes. McGregor might have done that and, although I think Hanlon has been a great servant to the club, he’s never a captain.

Team selection and formation all wrong. Players had no urgency and a good few were hiding today. It wouldn’t bother me who left after that performance.

Lost count of the number of times the camera panned to Nisbet with his head literally down, which was very poor for a Cup Final. He’s had flashes this season where he has been very good indeed but if we get a good offer over the summer then I won’t shed a tear at never having seem him play in the flesh

There's definitely a few of them I'm thinking we should just cash in while we can, Nisbet, Porteous, Doig and Boyle and rebuild, I couldn't care if Irvine stayed again a waste of a Jersey along with Newell. Not many of these players are in the good books right now

Am usually a fan of Paul Hanlon but he wasn't at the races today and let Middleton run past him like he wasn't there instead of taking him out. Been a great player for us but we need to step it up a level now at the back.

I don't think Newell is a wasted jersey, was one of the few wanted the ball today and drove forward with it. The team selection and set up was wrong today and then the players generally showed so little care or belief. We should have been down their throats from kick off.

Goalie aside, every player was an utter disgrace today.

Bad performance is one thing. Bad attitude is another thing and I thought our attitude stank today. Didn’t pick up any second balls, Boyle bottled out the challenge leading to the goal, no intensity. Could go on and on.

The players had the chance to become part of Hibs folklore just like the 2016 squad. After blowing their big chance with an utterly gutless performance they will now be forever remembered in the same way as the bulk of the 2012 squad as as a total embarrassment.

St Johnstone went man for man against us, and to a man they won their personal battles. The Hibs players either weren’t good enough, or didn’t fancy it enough today, but none of the players can look on the mirror tonight (with the exception of Macey) and be able to say that they have everything they had.

Too many hid, too many let the game pass them by, and too many didn’t want to do as much as their opposite number.

That, far more than any tactics or system, was the deciding factor today. A dismal display from a team that’s been so much better than that for the majority of this season.

I've slept on it now and probably feel even angrier at the players (Macey aside). Didn't even have a reaction to the penalty save. St Johnstone players were in tears at the end, that's how much they wanted it. Us? Utterly pathetic attitude in a cup final.

Yeah I'm really angry this morning, absolutely shocking way to play in a cup final.

The players have let the club down in a massive way.

Yeah, for me it was nothing like the other Hampden losses recently. In those other games we at least had a go and we could look back at missed chances.

It’s a long time since I’ve seen us do absolutely nothing of note in a game. Criminal with what was at stake and I don’t understand how there appeared to be no emotion or reaction from them during or after the game.

Looked like they were avoiding picking up injuries that could hamper their potential moves in the summer and I’m convinced that’s what half of them were doing.

I guess when you have an robotic manager who seems completely incapable of inspiring anyone then that rubs off on the players.

I doubt there has ever been such an inept, lacklustre performance from any team in a cup final over what we watched yesterday.

Totally agree with this. Always think players/teams reflect the manager and yesterday summed that up perfectly for me. That’s not to excuse the players ‘efforts’ in the slightest, though.

Nisbet doesn't give a ****, his attitude since clubs down south have been watching stinks. He picked up when he saw his chance to get in the Scotland squad then didn't turn up in the biggest game of the season.

Must admit I tried to convince myself all this week that the sudden upsurge in transfer talk for our so called top players would not affect their attitude . It is a cup final after all and they are professional footballers with a great chance, if they do leave the club of wining a top honour on the way out. How wrong was I ! All that talk this week proved on the day their mind was not 100% on the game. Bottling out of tackles and to a man scared to take responsibility when they did eventually get the ball.

They honestly cant believe all the transfer talk in the paper, or they a more foolish than the manager
for sending that team out to think they could win.
