Yeah on the image they posted he's was omitted and only named 10, but when they listed the names he was in the 11. Had me for a minute as well 😅

He's been invisible today. I don't think he's taken on his man once.

He is actually dreadful in big games. Can anyone remember him doing anything in a semi or final? or anything in a game against the old firm? Or anything in a game against Hearts except 1?

1 trick pony.

Surely that was a tactical howler from Ross?

£500k. Would be lucky to even get half of that on today's performance.

What should he have done?

Just not played Boyle? :dunno:

We should have played Boyle today. Might have made a difference.

Compare his performance, our main man, with Stokes in 2016. What service did Stokes get that day? None. He went and got the ball and made it happen. He won the game. Boyle barely showed up.

He was shocking today, the worst I’ve seen him play:eek:

I couldn’t even say he was bad today because I think he touched the ball twice, completely missed a header and dived.

Good players get themself involved in a game, drift into an area or go and demand the ball.

He seemed quite happy to stay on the right and offer nothing.

Happy smiley shaking hands with cup WINNERS he seems to disappear at Hampden

Boyle's only contribution today was to absolutely **** out of a 50/50 prior to St Johnstone crossing the ball for their goal. Well done baldy.

To be fair, his attempt at a pike was pretty funny for its *****ness.

Put in one good cross in the first half . Hardly touched the ball after that apart from dive incident . Frustrating because he`s played well in the last couple of months after only a handful of decent performances in previous year . Like most of the team , he knows squad is too small for him to be dropped . Ideally he`d have been an option as a sub today for last 30 minutes .

Pullled out a tackle that led to a goal. And shamefully dived in a desperate attempt to con our way back into it.

First time I’ve said this about him but it was a shameful performance

He's never done well in big games. I always think the big pitch at hampden is perfect for him but it's the opposite.

Hope he leaves this summer along with the other bottle merchant, Ross.

Boyle laughing and joking at the final whistle was what really pissed me off.

He was pretty much the worst player on the pitch so had nothing to be happy about.

Very poor.

Martin Boyle when he plays against teams that stand off him and give him space is almost unplayable.

However, teams realise this and do all that they can to nullify the threat at source. The old Aberdeen teams used to go down the rotational fouling approach. Saints, as in all games this season, prevented the ball getting to Boyle or when he did get the ball he had two men to get past. Is that Boyle's faults? It's not, we should have been doing something different.

I said before the game that I didn't know how we could overcome Saints game-plan as it was pretty obvious what they would do. With hindsight, I do wonder whether we should have just played one striker (either Nisbet or Doidge) playing Boyle in floating No. 10 role, with a more robust midfield four behind him. There is little point in using Boyle in a defensive role, and the lead up to the goal demonstrates this.

They have the upper hand on us.
Yes should have tried something different.
Like DAZ playing and Boyle in the hole.
It was all too predictable and the Saints only had to do what they did previously to win .
And our £4m player is an inexperienced player who can’t defend the back stick.

I think a lot of it is down to McCart, a very good defender. That along with Booth and the rest of them made it hard for him.

Expect a hell of alot more though.
