We are way out in front with 41% of the vote so far. Can't all be Hibbys voting for us. Only other contender, in my opinion, would be the Motherwell vs Dundee Utd final.

Our previous win was not on the list, so i voted 2016.
I do think in recent years it was the "best" final, and i think our votes on the poll reflect that.
As said, there will have been a lot of neutrals voted 2016 .
It was a Roy of the Rovers story.

Unbelievable story and that’s not just the final.

The whole cup run was what dreams are made of.

Voted.

Couldn't agree more. :agree:

It had the lot.

Boyhood Hibee McGregor scoring our 1000th goal in SC history and a Malonga screamer at Raith.

The comeback at tynecastle from 2-0 down.

The win up at Inverness 3 days after league cup final heartache.

The Conrad Logan show ft Cummings' penalties

The final itself wasn't bad either. :greengrin

Yup. Even without a Hibs bias it is by a mile the best final. It had everything you’d want in a cup final as a neutral.

Voted and I think I did so without bias. Ours was just that bit special and had it all. Others had the game but not the last minute action or the context with us not winning it for so long despite many finals reached.

Objectively, the only one that comes close is the Motherwell - United 4-3 with half dead keeper and family brothers backstory.

But SDG in injury time trumps it and SoL blasts any celebration out the water. :agree:

The best one. Motherwell v Dundee Utd was an epic one too. Article says Hearts 1998 win was their first major trophy in 26 years? Pretty sure it was longer than that...

The BBC article on the Hibs v Celtic game also claimed it's the first season since we came back up that've went unbeaten at home to them. Actually only lost at home once to them since 2014 and that was in the Scottish Cup.

I still have people mention that game to me when they discover i'm a Hibs fan. It's by far the most famous and dramatic Scottish Cup final ever and if you look on the various Youtube videos of it, it still gets comments from all over the world. The Motherwell v Dundee United final in 91 was a great final too but was pre social media. Even then it is second to 2016. Not even close to it.

It’s worth sneaking a look at the 2016 cup final thread on the Aberdeen fans’ forum. Even the sheep think it was best! (or maybe that’s just because they hate Sevco).

Gretna were on a financial kamikaze mission and stuffed with ex-Prem players. It was hardly Brora level.

Gretna and Hearts were both on a financial kamikaze mission. Was surprised to see it there, favourites got a bit of a fright but was far from a classic.

:agree:

Hearts limped out of their wreckage by the skin of their teeth, leaving £30M of debt, by the grace of the Lithuanian government. Gretna not so lucky.

Both shameful. And a ***** final to boot.

You would think that if all the Hearts fans that turn up week in and week out, voted at least once, then 400, 000 should swing it in their favour.
