Midfield pool next season

If everyone on the books was to stay with us (they won't) these are the personnel we have to choose from. It's a pretty impressive pool of players, imo, and it would take a very good player to improve it;

Gogic, Irvine, Newell, Hallberg, Murphy, Allen, Magennis, Cadden, Boyle, Mallen, Wright, Murray, Bradley, Mackay.

I've not included S McGinn as I think his deal ends this May.

I think the ones on bold will go - just my opinion, no evidence. McGinn will also leave.

If we consolidate and brought in say 2 midfielders, as well as Mckay(?) we would look very strong.

Campbell would be fantasy signing stuff, but man what a statement of intent that would be.

Would be happy with McGinn, Murray and Wright leaving permanently

Mallan and Hallberg are funny ones as they have the ability to contribute but not the consistency to start as much as they would like.

I think Mallan will move on but I’d try keep Hallberg as a squad player.

We need to get Irvine on a long term deal too.

Ignoring Boyle, I would like to see much more goal threat from midfield, especially from central midfield. I don't think we take enough shots from midfield, apart from when Mallan plays. Even Mallan doesn't have a great record from scoring in open play. Also, having midfielders that take the late run into the box and score - Irvine is the obvious except, but he doesn't score enough and it's not confirmed that he'll be at Hibs next season.

Oh for a Pat McGinley or a Russel Latapy! A return of a goal scoring Scott Allan would be nice.
