Considering when Jack Ross took over we were not far off relegation candidates when he came in, that’s a fantastic turnaround.

A solid team, pragmatic football, intelligent management still with room to improve. Great signings largely and a streetwise approach.

Huge well done to the team and the gaffer.

I’m delighted for JR and his team tonight. He’s had a wee bit of a rocky road with the fans this season and it’s good to see him come out on top. On the other hand, I thought Stephen Glass looked disillusioned and shell shocked. Big repair job for him this summer.

Wholeheartedly agree. Looking for the away form to match and a big improvement in the home form next season now. Dons aside teams who made third recently dropped away significantly the following season. One of them even ended up relegated. With the chance of Europe every other week we need a bigger squad but Jack seems to know what he needs and Ron seems to look to support.

So according to the BBC that is only the 5th time in 45 years we've been 3rd i.e. going back to 1975-76. Average of once every 9 years. Not a great looking stat on the face of it but why the odd figure of 45 years? I'll tell you why. Cos in the preceding 8 years we were 3rd three times and second twice. Must have been a jambo who wrote that for the jambo loving ****s at the BBC. I prefer to note we have been 9 times 2nd or 3rd in 50 years.

Is it not more down to the fact that the period in question covers the premier league era?

Just the way stats are reported. If you the media say something like 2 defeats in the last 10 games it because if you extend beyond 10 games the stat let quickly becomes less impressive

It feels good, the Celtic game on Saturday is now highly irrelevent imo, I don't care if JR puts out a largely second string team 3rd place has been achieved and nothing will change that our focus has to be on next Saturday for me.

I’m 50 in December, that stat is enough for me 😁
