fellow Hibs supporters, thanks to all our members who have renewed their memberships this year .This has helped greatly to the situation at the Hibernian Supporters Clubrooms at Sunnyside who have had to deal with the brunt of the Covid situation . The supporters club have had virtually no income (as any club, pub etc have had to deal with ) but as a Branch, we would like to extend our thanks to any of the current custodians/ comittee etc that have had to keep an eye on the premises, and carry out regular visits (on a voluntary basis) to carry out the normal checks and statutary regulations etc. As a Branch, we are delighted to see that more than 95% of our members have renewed for this coming season, despite the fact that we have had one of our stalwart members passing away and one of our older members now confined to a care home, with yet another diagnosed with a debilitating disease, and added to that one of our regular travellers to away games is terminally ill. Despite all that we will be running buses as normal to as many away games as we can, when the situation is eased and the afore mentioned, would not have it any other way! . thanks lads, and lassies for renewing, hope to see you at Sunnyside soon.

Glad to hear it. I remember your posts about your mining days and the associated socialist values of those times in the pits :agree:

Great comments. I never forgot the role miners played helping our club survive back in the early days and how the Hibernian team would often play fundraising games to help striking Lothian miners snd their families. I had heard some stories filter down from my family, who were miners going back to the brutal days of serfdom, but Alan Lugton’s excellent book lays it all down.

So many folk are suffering just now with some employers using Covid as an excuse to attack working people (Like gas workers and many more) . I think we need those values you mention mow more the man ever and help each other out with real solidarity.

One hundred per cent, comrade. In this empty and money obsessed society, humanist values are needed more than ever. My avatar of James Connolly is no coincidence; it's a matter of values and how we should live together. To some it's obsolete, but for many of us these beliefs live on.

Great OP, Wullie. Hope to see you for a few beers soon 🍻.
Really disappointed to be missing four (yes four, I'm confident for the semi) Hampden bus trips this season.

Wow, don't know how I managed to dig this auld thread up...However it does bring back memories of the loss of a good few of our auld comrades that passed away, after those terrible times of covid and the desperate loneliness it aused to many. However, to all Hibees still here...our day will come, again. ggtth.

Your supporters branch has provided a great service to me in the past, with great people on the bus.
Thanks cliff.
