Now that the dust has settled quite a good watch / post mortem after Saturday’s **** show

I have never seen Matty so angry and his summing up of Martin Boyle’s pathetic performance is 100 % nail on the head stuff 48

Still angry but I feel slightly calmer after watching this

I am with the panel before Saturday I did not want to sell any player after Saturday they can all go apart from Macey ( spoiler alert) :greengrin

Sunderland till I die is probably a good point but I'm always hounding after Jack Ross and I've never watched it.

We do not have a divine right to beat St Johnstone in a final, that everyone should agree on, but what still gets me angry is with our budget we looked like a Championship team devoid of ideas against a solid Premiership team. We should lose because St Johnstone play out of their skins on the day, they didn't that's the worrying thing.

Still absolutely disgusted. Glad to be getting a break from Hibs.

I would like to raise a point about this. Where in all the Star Wars galaxy do TIE fighters go 'bi bi bing'. Shirley they go 'pew p-p-pew p-pew' and that is forgetting the targeting bleeps before the actual shot (I think a electronic ring tone for a phone was used for these noises), in the trench run you also hear the mechanical movement of the guns on the TIE fighters which is a sort of chuttering noise. Ben Burtt the sound designer on the original Star Wars was a bit of a genius!

I liked the story about Lennon telling him to sign a new contract.

I (along with my brother and Dad) were actually on the plane to Paris that Jason was on. I had clocked him in the queue behind us so we got to our seats first. As JC appraoched my brother and I both said, "get that bloody contract signed". Jason looked like he had seen a ghost lol.

We later went back for a wee chat and he was brilliant, he said the gaffer told him to get to Paris pronto or he would fly back and get him. That's a plane journey you don't want to be on!

I just think the Gogic question is based on such an annoying and stupid premise. You just need to point out how important he was to us last season and how hes now played what, two? games this season. Asking if he’s played his last game for us because he’s not a good enough player just makes no sense. But then again I’ve read it on here so it’s clearly an opinion that’s out there.

Personally I try not to put stuff on any social media that I wouldn't say directly to someone in person - either players or other posters.

I thought we would have been terribly two faced to have not mentioned the final if we were also going to go through the talking points, but i hoped that we’d have built up enough of a rapport by that point that it could be said without causing offence, which i think we did.

My tuppence worth on the Macey discussion…

When you look at the number of keepers that English clubs keep on their books it’s not surprising there are loads of keepers who are a significant age like Macey with only a few dozen appearances. At Arsenal he’s at a top club, learning from (supposedly) the best coaches and training with (genuinely) some of the best in the world at that position. If you enjoy training and getting paid there is no real reason to go out on loan every season, he did that for one season at Plymouth where he had most of his appearances with a side who were getting pummelled most weeks. Is that a better learning experience than being at Arsenal as a 4th choice? I suppose it’s down to the individual and what their mindset is.

One things for sure is there must be loads of really top keepers not getting game time for whatever reason, (manager just doesn’t fancy them, not fitting a size/style archetype, injury, too much competition) who if they get that chance are going to seize it and change the fortunes of a club. Look at what’s happened to Emi Martinez after stumbling into the Arsenal first team after years being unknown and suddenly he’s a millionaire winning the Copa America, or at a lesser level Peacock Farrell now saving everything at Sheffield Wednesday. The trick is finding them of course:greengrin

I think Murphy’s been looking like he has something but there’s never an end product. What we’ve been really struggling to do is to find anything resembling space in the final third and occasionally Murphy’s been managing it but without anything happening from there (not his fault imo). When he creates that wee yard though there’s nothing after that - movement is pish so struggling to play in a striker, an overlapping wingback, a midfielder surging beyond the striker etc. It’s just static and it falls flat.

Thought the 3 of you done well too. Given the results you approached the subject rationally and this made the engagement with Joe much easier and I think he respected that.

We seem to have fallen off a cliff since Rangers and I would of liked to see you probe that game, more from a psychological/confidence standpoint, specifically the impact of being 60 mins away from going top of the league; to having that ripped away from you and the subsequent drop in form..

When Newell, Doidge, Jackson & Vela arrived it was easy to think of them as Hecky signings given that so many came from the English leagues at the same time, so it was interesting to hear that we'd shown interest in Newell when Lennon was still our manager. It was said that we'd been after Vela for a while too. Since then Ross has leaned toward Scottish players, although it was mentioned that Covid had played it's part in that.

it's nothing earth shattering but it seems to confirm that the recruitment dept. are suggesting a range of players with the managers then giving their preferences.
