Off the back of a good performance at Stranraer, will Jack stick to the same staring line up v Livvi, or will Gogic comeback in
Aberdeen v Celtic don’t ko until 7.45, so 3 points for the Hibees, will put them under severe pressure
A Hibs win and a Dons defeat will give us a 7 point cushion, with 3 League games to play
Think Darren Jackson is on Hibspass

The middle of a huge week for us and a good reminder of the early kick off. Can't see too many changes, maybe the odd one but I doubt anyone will complain if it's the same starting 11. Maybe Rocky back?

*Livi 😣
This is a game that could define our season and take any pressure off us going into the final few games of season!
A win would be tremendous and set us up for Saturday!

This unbelievably is our first home game since 6 February.
There was a lot of comment at the time about the state of the pitch.
Surely in the two months plus since then the pitch will now be in a much better condition.
What can we expect it to be like.
Hoping a good surface will help our quick passing counter attacks.

Not must win, but rarely wanted to win more.
Be great to do it with something like we've seen over the last two weeks, but it's us at home in the league against Livi and life ain't that simple. Any win will do.

I really feel the first batch of post-split fixtures were manufactured to try and make things more interesting. Us v Rangers and Aberdeen v St Johnstone (the lowest placed team in the top 6). Thought fixtures are decided by a computer logarithm. The SPFL really are run by a bunch of amateurs.
Celtic are unreliable and unable to defend properly just now, so it's not impossible for Aberdeen to beat them at home tomorrow night. As we are up first tomorrow we must not give Aberdeen any sort of encouragement or finishing 3rd could become awkward.
We need a convincing performance and a win at home tomorrow. These have been rare this season at home so far this season.
Come on Hibs. Show up, don't bottle it and get the 3 points.

Didn’t realise it was a 6pm kick off !!
Really important week..
Closer to 3rd / Europe ?!
Cup semi finals again ?!
We haven’t beaten Livi at home since September 2017 !!!
With Aberdeen playing later and coming off 2 wins we really need to pick up 3 points.

Not a must win, but the kind of game that needs to be won to prevent (potentially tougher) games becoming must win.
Win and the pressure's on Aberdeen. Lose and they've got a massive incentive against a wobbly Celtic. Don't know if the old nerves can stand it.

First thing is to bag the 3 points against Livi and to heep the pressure on Aberdeen.Nearly always fancy Celtic to beat the Dons but who knows how Celtic are going to react to that defeat in the cup.Hope Celtic don’t think the season is over and start changing the team. Will know this time tomorrow I suppose.

I think Aberdeen will definitely win against a garbage Celtic tomorrow, a generous 7/2 with Bet365, so we have to win to keep our necks in front.

Hmm not sure I’d be tipping Aberdeen as heavily as “definitely” against Celtic, not sure they’ve turned that much of a corner.
Celtic are still a good side against most in the league
It’s all in our hands. Ours to lose.

Dons won against the run of play versus ST Johnstone and won on penalties playing Livi. An 84th minute winner at Dumbarton. Not sparkling form.

I think the players will be right up for this game, along with the quality of player and a flat pitch we should be fine, more than fine if we actually convert chances into goals (Nisbet)
Livi are on a poor run of form, now that teams worked out how to play against them and they got horses away from home last week.
The sheepies record against Celtic is abysmal 1 win 2 draws and 21 defeats in recent times, if they manage a draw it would be a surprise.

Problem with both those players now is they need game time to get match fit but we have important games coming thick and fast so same small group are going to have to go again a few new injuries are not what we need and suspensions could also start to impact

I know that fans’ opinions and expectations count for little, especially when not attending matches, but I’ve never seen such contrasting comments on Celtic and Aberdeen forums. The ‘best fans in the world’ think they have no chance tonight or, at best, couldn’t care less about the game. On the other hand, Aberdeen fans are confident of a win. Bottom line is that we get on with the business professionally and keep the ball in our court.

Absolutely. A win tonight is crucial even if Aberdeen do lose to Celtic.
If we both lose then the gap remains at 4 points and it means that Aberdeen are still just 2 wins away from us. We probably still remain favourites but it would become very cagey in that scenario. I know it would also be 4 points if we both win (or draw) but I do think a defeat tonight would be damaging regardless of what Aberdeen do.
If we lose and Aberdeen win and the gap becomes 1 point then I think they then become favourites.
Huge night for us tonight, no slip ups please.

I agree with you but if you look at it Aberdeen are really struggling to score goals' they have only managed to score 6 goals in 15 league games this year and only scoring more than once in one game with a 2-0 win against Motherwell at home. I think they are still really going to struggle to find the net in the remaining games. I think even if they do score tonight I can't see them winning. We have managed to score 15 goals in 13 League games this year. I think we really are a stronger team this year. All we have to do is avoid one of our blips. We must win tonight. We just hope this does not make the players nervy. I think in quite a few of our league games at home we have been to slow to get a grip of games. We need a good start tonight for sure.

Don’t think it’s pushing it to say that this is our most important game of the season by far, the rewards for third place this season are substantial and could cover all of the losses Covid has wreaked upon Hibs as a business as well as providing some funds for a player dividend next season. Let’s hope we start this game with far more tempo and show Livi from the off that we are right up for this. Ultimately all that matters tonight is the three points, doubt that Aberdeen side will take much from either of the ugly sisters so three points tonight is as big as it gets, let’s get it done !

I agree but Aberdeen have started to show signs that they are coming out of their rut.
They had a really important win against St Johnstone in their last league match and came back twice to win on penalties against Livingston in the cup at the weekend.
I don't see them getting anything tonight but if they do we need to have won our match first. If we lose it gives them a big incentive.

A win tonight may well be enough for third regardless of what the Dons get v Celtc. Livi still have a very slim chance of Europe but they may already see the season as a success and their form has certainly tailed off. Massive game and if we play the way we have recently we should be fine. 2-0 Hibs with Goals from Boyle and Nisbet

We need to keep distance between ourselves and Aberdeen, much has been made in the past about it being a dead cert they'd lose points to Celtic and Rangers so we're ok but it's not looking so clear cut now.

Marciano, McGinn, Hanlon, Porteous, Stevenson, Gogic, Irvine, Newell, Doidge, Nisbet, Boyle.
Subs: Macey, Gray, Magennis, Wright, Hallberg, McGregor, Bradley.
I've noticed since people started commenting on Macey Gray, they've started putting Magennis in between them on the official team notes.

Lewis equals Willie Ormond's 506 appearances for the club. Now only Gordon Smith, Arthur Duncan and Pat Stanton have played more games.
Absolutely amazing. Utter legend.

Though they try to hide it, it's clear.

We are allowed 9, but only 7 on the bench tonight

Not saying it's a "must win" but anything less than 3 points will be massively disappointing.
We need to keep distance between ourselves and Aberdeen, much has been made in the past about it being a dead cert they'd lose points to Celtic and Rangers so we're ok but it's not looking so clear cut now.
Aside from the points helping secure 3rd we could do with confidence being high for the cup game we've got upcoming also.
That'll do Hibs, that'll do.
