View Full Version : Billy Lowe

A positive highlight taken from yesterday’s zoom call with Capital Club members was Ron Gordon announcing that well known Edinburgh publican Billy Lowe is taking the lead on all of the hospitality improvements and offerings within the stadium. This includes a revamped “Behind the Goals”.

Something to look forward to once we can all return to live action.

It wasn’t closed shop - it was open to all who had paid £1300+ for a season ticket.

I'm not a season ticket holder but I agree with the approach. You need to find a way to stop these things being infiltrated by those just looking to cause trouble (either non Hibs fans or some if the more mischievous elements of our support), and while it means some genuine fans miss out I'm not sure there's a better option than limiting it to season ticket holders.

The positive thing is that the club are communicating with supporters and those in attendance alongside fans reps can report back. I'm confident if there was anything I wanted to query Kieran would pick it up on my behalf.

Back on topic, great news about behind the goals. It's been under utilised for too long.

The Capital Club is the name given to those that buy hospitality.

https://www.eticketing.co.uk/hibernianfc/Hospitality/LandingPage

If you don't buy hospitality then there's no need to be involved in (zoom) meetings about it.

This could be a good appointment.

His pubs were/are middle of the road student type places with an emphasis on food. Almost fast food in a pub setting.

He must have dozens of young enthusiastic staff. His group, Saltire Taverns, was one of my customers in food service some years back.

There have been some changes since then but the business is roughly the same.

He himself is a shrewd businessman and he would not enter into this unless it was viable to him and the club.

Over the years he opened, ran and sold on:
Sneaky Pete’s
The Kitchen
Frankensteins
Espionage
Buddy Milligan’s
Maggie Dicksons
Jekyll & Hyde
Queens Arms
Fibber McGees
Golf Tavern
Le Monde
Oddfellows
Shanghai
Rutland
Angels Share
and a few places in Aberdeen, amongst others.

He currently owns and operates Black Ivy and McSorsleys (FKA Oddfellows).
