Apparently they were recently scalped by Brora Rangers of the Highlands League in the biggest shock in the history of the Scottish cup.

Bottled it in a very Hearts way.

It really is awful.

Folk say ‘hibsed it’ doesn’t bother them then come up with this as some kind of retaliation.

It’s a zillion times worse and as you say, is a total cringe.

Its as cringeworthy as the hard of thinking on kickback using terms such as "vermin" or that they would "dry ride" us.........ffs

I prefer the old ways -

Jambo if referring to someone you may not wish to offend, hearts *******s or hearts ***** for the remainder is my preference.

p.s. I know you are trying to be clever, but please dont tell me you ever use the words "yam" or "jambottled" in real conversations..................

No, I’m a bit like you in that I’d use Jambo as an inoffensive name , all be it it’s as made up as Yam.. I’ve never seen or heard jambottled before this thread.

Agreed, this thread is pathetic.

Have we forgotten about the semi already - they still somehow managed to trump us even being in the championship. Let's be serious we would have dropped points to them this season.

Shut this thread down and focus on Hibs.

Its lucky Hibs.net tolerates as many world views and opinions as possible.

I have a wide circle of Hibs supporting friends and contacts all over the place and the terms jambo and yam are not uncommon in our world, have been for decades.

My family yam says they rejoice in being called jambos and do not like being called yams, so that's good enough for me[emoji16].Maybe it's general generational thing.

I'd just add that for over 50 years now I've found it possible to mock Hearts periodically when they're open to it and continuously support Hibs, even when things are going badly.

So because they beat us in last season's delayed semi final we can't ridicule them? Personally find it quite amusing that that they put all their eggs in one basket when they have a game against Hibs. Quite flattering. Maybe they should have shown Alloa, Brora and numerous ***** championship teams the same respect they show the "wee team". They might not be playing lower league football if they did.

So you're saying they didn't approach the Semi the right way? What was our excuse? Had their season even started? That Semi result was very damaging for us and undone a lot of good will with the fans. It's a bizarre thread given that Semi Final.

Let's be honest they are going to be promoted very easily.

I think the grumbles are about how we rip the pish because there's not much to complain about re Hibs. Some folk aren't happy unless they've got something to be unhappy about. 🙃

I’d say ripping the pish is totally acceptable and is to be encouraged.

The phrase ‘jambottled’ is utterly crap though and just shows how much Hibsed it really got to some folk.

Could have just listed times Hearts bottled it at the end of a game and spared the cringe, that’s all folk are saying.

They are a constant source of hilarity and have been for a number of years now. They have beaten us in games but that us football. What we haven't done us **** the bed as often as they have on so many fronts when being handed multi millions of pounds from various sources. When we overspend on ONE stand by approx £15m. Forget to order seats, spend 1m on a pitch then **** it up by letting a band play on it, get relegated, tell everyone it's no fair and they will take on the world in court, get beat in court numerous times, get beat by Alloa & Brora in cups, limp over the line in the worst chumpionship for years even when having a budget that dwarves the rest of the league. All of that before we even start to talk about the tax dodging, poppy stealing, charity robbing, etc. I'll laugh at those ****ers as much and as often as I want thanks. They are a joke of a club and have been for decades. Big club my arse!

I like Jambottled it. I'm not cringing.

I do object to an alleged HIbs fan coming on here and starting a spurious thread just so they can have the H word on our board in capital letters though, that's fairly cringeworthy.

Jambottled, Broarar'd....Duncan, Yametc, all good for me.

I don't mind Jambottled but wouldn't use it myself. However, Duncans is a term that should be more widely used. Those videos from the Murrays were really funny and the word just conjures up the image of a Jambo for me. It helps that one of the biggest Jambos I know is called Duncan. I'd encourage all Hibbies called Duncan to look into changing their name:wink:

Hearts beating us in the semi resulted in me almost pishing myself laughing at them in the penalty shootout in the final so every cloud and all that. If they'd won it then I might have felt differently but it made for a cheerful Christmas. When the dust settled they were still a trophyless Championship club.

Was just down at the garage collecting my car from the Jambo garage owner.

Turns out he's not really interested in football any more. He just focuses on golf. Big jump from a season ticket holder not too long ago and someone who bleated about them being unfairly relegated.

I'm sure that will change if they get some success but I wonder how many others feel like that.

I sympathised with him as you can only follow the "gift that keeps on giving" for so long before embarrassment sinks in.

This happens often when they go on one of their spells. 2013 was a big year for it but by 2014 the golf clubs went into the cupboard so they could talk about minding the gap etc.

Language varies depending on context - there are lots of terms people use for messaging that you would never say IRL.

I think Yam is a great word for them.

I think Yam is a great word for them. While yam appears to be exclusive to this place I also think it's ideal. It gives us a term for "them" which shows no respect but doesn't descend to the depths of vermin, sister-fister, etc. that are so common on JKB but well beyond normal craic.
